Shared on Wed, 01/31/2007 - 03:57Insomnia again. I woke up around 2:30 this morning, spent half an hour staring at the ceiling before I gave up and went downstairs. I would have played WoW, but my girlfriend hasn't been sleeping well either recently, so I didn't want to risk waking her. It didn't work out that way, of course, as the cat proceeded to slink her way upstairs and start raking through my tie drawer.
So, I've been awake since 2.30, it's now 10.00, and I've still got another 7 hours at least at work, on a day on which most of the staff I support are on strike, so it's bound to be unutterably boring. More than ever have I wished to have WoW installed on my work laptop.
I'd like to be able to write something Gibson-esque about how I feel, about being in some hyper-aware state that exists somewhere past tiredness, past wakefulness, where things vibrate with a frequency all of their own, that I can not only see, but feel in the bones of my jaw, and the base of my skull.
But I'd be lieing if I said these things to you - I'm just really fucking tired.
