i had no idea until just the other day what most people meant when typing "ftw".  the explanation quickly reminded me of a simpler time when we said what we meant without needing acronyms.  but, we wasted a lot of time talking too (this was before typing).  we may have wasted a lot of time writing as well (this was clearly after writing which preceded typing by a significant margin), but hardly a point worth deliberating since no written record exists that could prove otherwise anyway.

i live in dallas which is shockingly close to ft worth.  i felt the need to interject the word "shockingly" into the preceding sentence to polarize my readers and for Duke's benefit.  If you don't know Duke, don't worry.  Duke knows Duke.  That reminds me, my milk probably went bad - don't worry about it, though, unless you come over and I offer you any of the following:

* milk
* spoiled milk
* mostly white milk
* chai tea (which I put milk in)
* cottage cheese

shockingly (just a reiteration at this point), ft. worth is really close to dallas.  While no recognizable abbreviation exists for dallas that I'm familiar with (is the middle finger really an abbreviation, anyway?), ft worth has one which is FTW.  It takes me longer to say "f", "t", "w" (3 syllables) than to say "Ft. Worth" (two syllables), yet an abbreviation it is.  stranger than that is my loose decision to capatilize a few letters in this entire post.  i have no explanation that could possibly enlighten anyone as to what the inner workings of my brain look like or how the neural impulses translated into that quirk, so no explanation shall be forthcoming.  yet, beyond all that, my love for cheese remains intact, so i bid adieu.

For a long time I thought people were saying F... the world. Someone had to explain it to me. Now I realise it is an acronym for the amazing power of cheese.

here we go again - I've seen the comments stay steady at 4, but the rating go from a 4 down to a 2 today. people that give me a thumbs down for a true blog suck. They suck worse because they are anonymous about it.

I know, right? I don't get it - it's annoying. It's even worse because of the anonymity of it. People can just be jerks if they want without reprucussions, which is what keeps society in check currently.

At one time I thought ftw was just a funny, '1337' way of exclaiming "wtf".
