Shared on Fri, 06/30/2006 - 08:40OK, not a rant - Im not really the rant type. I want to be, but Rashanii has me beat hands down in that category. Really, about all I can muster up is strong indignation. So, here is my Indignation:
When playing a team slayer match of any kind, BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS! Sheesh! Last night, Im playing with random people. I spawn and Im instantly being shot at. My teammate, who I could reach out and give a big hug to because hes so close (but I wont), obliviously runs in a straight line away to go towards rockets. Another teammate runs in a completley different direction.
Its not just team work, which can take a long time to develop. I mean, if youre doing a random MM TS game, youre not going to know those blokes anyway. Its a matter of "team first" being your objective rather than "how can I get a PW and get the most kills?". You know, you see a teammate in trouble - you help them. You see your team in one spot, dont run to the opposite corner of the universe. Dont go straight to them and get killed, either, but think how you can support the team best. If a mate is in trouble, help out - for example, if your mates shields are going down rapidly and youre 2 feet from him and hes trying to get away to avoid the death because he knows he cant return fire and win in time, dont just shoot at the enemy, but try this: step in FRONT of the bullets! Yes! You can save your mate, and chances are youll kill the enemy because (a) he has a couple shots on him already, and (b) hes been shooting so hell have to stop to reload before you do.
Not just team work (as in, how do we 4 as a team handle this objective. Who does what, blah blah), but a Team First concept that I dont see discussed much. Think about it!
