Huh? What?

So, I'm near the end of level 6 of Halo 3 when I suddenly get a message on my screen that the disc is scratched and unreadable, and I get dumped back to the main screen.

Sure enough, my disc is messed up as reported by many others - just on the outer edges. I didn't look at my disc when I got the game, just put it in the 360 and went to town (a small town just south of here).

I'm not happy. I'm about to drive to Gamestop and see if they'll exchange it, but if they won't, I'm out of luck for a couple weeks as I go through XBox's disc replacement program.. :-(
