The other day, though, it suddenly struck me what an odd "label" that is to use instead of the "other words" most often bantered about. It's such a descriptive phrase - it explains what part of your body is most significantly involved and what action it is taking.
So, that got me thinking: what if we described all of our actions that way? Would walking become moving my legs in propulsion? Listening become recognizing auditory patterns through my ear drum?
I believe that we typically use the shorter descriptions to save time - which is good, because I always run out of time. I really don't want to have to sit here and move my fingers across the keyboard, striking keys with my fingertips ("type") so that you can scan a computer screen with your eyes that interpret the light signals into a recognizable communication form ("read"). Although, I do enjoy pwning noobs and tbagging because I'm l33t ("playing halo 2").
Next time you have a bowel movement, think about it. We don't really give enough attention to that, anyway
