I recently ordered a pizza from both Papa Johns and Pizza Hut (separate nights – I’m not THAT hungry!) and found that both providers of pizza pies (alliteration. Oh yeah) offer a Special Instructions section. Papa Johns still easily takes the prize as the easiest and technically proficient online ordering site, but both offer this section to add comments like “Extra Sauce” and the like. I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to request my pizza to be cut into Squares using the checkbox on Papa Johns site, and typing it in on the Pizza Hut site.
Both pizzas arrived in standard pie cut form.
Now, I’m not about to send these pizza back. “I’m sorry, delivery person, while this pizza looks scrumptious and the smell tempts me to want to dance while painting my body in various bright colors, the cut is all wrong. Send it back! Be gone, you devil child!”, just won’t be coming out of my mouth. Nope, I’m starving at this point and I’m taking a pizza in then petting it and calling it my precious. But, COME ON! What is the point of having the section in the ordering process if you are just going to ignore it anyway?

Maybe next time, I’ll add in some additional instructions: “Yes, when the delivery person arrives, please have him/her sing a song from the 1930’s backwards in Spanish” or maybe just “please ignore all special instructions” (just for the irony)
