So I'm at work the other day and...

...this guy in a John Deere hat and acid wash jeans come and asks for the "EA NASCAR 08 game that you can play on you TV." I asked him whether he wanted the XBOX 360 version or the PS3 version. He looked confused, and I had to be one to break it to him that it would cost him at least 350.00 to play the game on his TV. He left looking disappointed. I could have been a real smarmy jerk, but I wasn't.

Another day, a middle aged woman asked me for the "Y" game". I knew from prior experience that she wanted to buy a Wii. I only corrected her on her pronunciation so when she unveiled it to her grandkids on X-Mass morning, she wouldn't sound uncool.

Another lady bounced in to buy Wii Play; bubbling on about how she got a really good deal on a Wii at Walmart. "They are normally 399.99, but I got mine for 249.99!" I was about to correct her, but she seemed so happy I just couldn't burst her bubble. This incident makes me wonder what the hell is going on at Walmart.

Numerous folks have come in to ask if we have "the Wii game". I point to the display, only to discover they mean the console.

See, I know I say stupid things all the time, and when someone nicely corrects me, I don't feel bad. I just can't stand people rubbing my nose in my own mistake like a puppy with a bladder control problem. So I try to extend that courtesy to my fellow human beings. (unless they are stupid AND mean, in which case they can go fuck themselves)

Retail Therapy Report
Parents are terrified there might be a Wii shortage, so they are snapping them up as fast as Nintendo ships them to us. This is the principle of supply and demand in action. We got the 360 Arcade bundle in, and we still have one Halo 3 edition 360 left over like ghost of the Halo Hysteria . We can't keep the pro bundle in stock. (the one with a 20 gig 360 and Forza 2 and Marvel Alliance) Oh, and I sold a PS3 last week.

Good on ya.. My roommate works as a store manager for GameCrazy & I was in there one day shootin' the shit with him. This real tall black kid walks up to one of his employees & asks for the game "Narc". The game is brought to the register & the kid is rung up. Five minutes later, an older gentleman walks in with this kid & gives the store a citation for not asking for ID & selling a 'M' rated game to a minor. -Jay

@ Lunatik-ZX I don't know what causes add or adhd, but tv has been around a lot longer than video games. I was raised on tv, and didn't play video games until I was about 11. I remember always having trouble focusing on what my teachers were saying and daydreaming during my entire childhood. But I was also an avid reader, and could get lost in books for hours. My problem is not being able to tear myself away from something, and change focus when needed. @ Jay That's bullshit, I'm not going to hold up the line because I'm not sure some 6 foot tall bearded guy is old enough to buy Saw III. My store gets a lot of business and it's not just electronics. I have rung up lip gloss, coffee makers, giant pumpkins, and night crawlers, no lie. (and no-- I don't work at Walmart) What was the penalty for the citation, and on whose authority was it given?

Uni, I'd have to get the details from the roomie but I'm fairly certain it was a company hired by GameCrazy (Hollywood Video) to ensure IDs were being checked. definite bastard entrapment.

I work at a game retailer also. Some of the questions I have heard lately are "Do ya'll have that W-i-i game thing? I saw it on the teler-vision last night."

ADD has more to do with a defficiency in dietary intake of omega 3 & omega 6 fatty acids. Not many people know that more than 60% of the human brain is fat. The other 40% is distributed in water and proteins. So fats are brain food, but then there are types of fats. Good fats: polyunsaturate fatty acids (omega 6 & omega 3), monounsaturate fatty acids ( omega 9 & super omega 6), saturate fatty acids ( like the ones found in coco nuts) Bad fats: trans fatty acids ( created by man and throught frying), hidrogenated fatty acids ( created by man ) Sources of fatty acids: Hemp seed oil, Flax seed oil, Olive oil, Primrose oil, Borage oil, Fish oil, Soy seed oil.
