FRIDAY-SATURDAY-SUNDAY
John. B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center
900 Boylston Street
Boston, MA 02115
Gareb Shamus, CEO of New York based Wizard Entertainment, confirms today the dates and venue for the recently purchased New England Comic Con.
"October is a great time to be in Boston," said Shamus. "The Hynes Convention Center is a premiere space and a hometown favorite for shows. I'm excited to bring the New England Comic Con fans this upgraded con experience."
For the first time, the Inkwell Awards will present their 2010 trophies live at New England Comic Con. Previously the Inkwell Awards were announced only online. The winners will be presented their trophies and then take part in a Q&A session with fans.
“There will be a lot of new developments coming from us this year. We're debuting our Ms. Inkwell mascot and creating the first exclusive Inker Database. Having Wizard’s support will be integral to increasing the awareness and exposure of these, and future, developments of the organization,” said Bob Almond, Inkwell Awards founder and director.
All fans are encouraged to vote online in August for their favorite inker in each category at www.inkwellawards.com. The Inkwell Awards committee will judge eligibility of all nominees that are selected from their separate Nomination Committee.
“Inkwell Awards recognizes unsung heroes of the comics industry. We’re helping this organization develop because it’s important to the industry and because our fans want to learn about and interact with quality artists,” said Shamus.
