Here is the latest Halo Waypoint update from Jon Goff, Community Manager over at 343 Industries
This week’s update is rather short and sweet, but I wanted to make sure to give everyone a heads-up that with the Reach beat coming to a close Halo Waypoint will be returning to more of its regularly scheduled content roll out, including the return of RvB episodes and the Waypoint Top 5 as well as the premiere of the full extended cut of our newest motion comic series, “The Return.”
I also wanted to take a quick moment to say that I hope everyone enjoyed the Reach beta and had enough time to get a feel for the various maps, weapons, armor abilities, etc. I, personally, had a lot of fun and think the level of excited people felt for this small taste of Reach will only be magnified once they get their hands on the full game this fall. That said… in a previous Update I ask for your thoughts a few specific topics related to the beta and now that it is over I would love to know your overall impressions, so if you have a few moments and are so inclined…
What are your overall impressions of Reach after having spent some quality time with the multiplayer beta (feel free to be as detailed or direct as you like)?
And, to catch everyone up-to-speed on the new content coming to Waypoint over the next week, here’s rundown of some of what you expect to find…
“The Return” (full length)
Saturday, June 22 – The full length cut of the “The Return” takes the four episodes of halo Waypoints newest motion comic and presents them as one continuous story. This is the perfect opportunity to catch the story if you missed it in its serialized version, or to re-watch it in an uninterrupted fashion. Animated by ONE and written by Kevin Grace, “The Return” is based on the short story originally published in Halo Evolutions and follows the journey of a lone Elite Shipmaster as he attempts to find meaning in the ashes of a the Covenant’s horrific war with humanity.
Halo Waypoint TOP 5 – “One Shot, One Kill”
Wednesday, June 26 – TOP 5 returns with a look at some sweet community sniper clips. As always, the five in-game videos featured in the TOP 5 are pulled from the countless community submitted Saved Films from both Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST, and, as always, they sometimes awesome, occasionally amazing, and quite frequently ridiculous.
“Ordnance”
Friday, June 28th – The beta may be over, but Waypoint’s coverage of Halo: Reach continues with this look at the weapons, vehicles, and materiel that will be at your fingertips this fall.
The Making of “Midnight in The Heart of Midlothian” and “The Return”
Get a behind-the-scenes look at what went into the making of Halo Waypoint’s first steps into the world of motion comic. Based on stories from Halo Evolutions.
Also, if you missed any of Waypoint's Halo: Reach coverage, nows a great time to pop in and check out some of the content we’ve gathered (some created internally by Waypoint, other items having been crafted by various community members and gaming-related sites).
To wrap things up, here’s a look at a few of the images from Hawty McBloggy’s final “Best of Reach” screenshot gallery (you can see the full gallery, along with the others she has put together) on Waypoint, so log-in and check 'em out when you can.…
