Waterborn
Shared on Sat, 07/16/2011 - 10:15Well, time flies, does it not? I cannot believe that it has been one month to the day since my last blog post. As you may have surmised, I am taking some time away from the web, 2old2play and what not to recharge and get ready for my wedding next April. Things are going well. Work has been insane. So much so that I was able to FINALLY get out on the water for a little surf last week for the first time this summer. Hoping to join my friends at SUP the Coast for a SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) Expression Session tomorrow at dawn. I will try to post pics from the event. After surfing, I have plans to meet up with some friends and watch the Women's Wold Cup Final - GO USA!
In gaming news from the Wold of Waterborn, I recently acquired an Everdrive Cart for my Sega Genesis cab. Though a bit pricey, this thing is amazing. It allows you to load up all of the Sega Genesis (and Master System & 32X) games ever created onto one game cartridge. I hope to have a video up soon of my set-up, but in the meantime, check out some of videos available on youtube for some more info on this very cool addition to my basment arcade.
Also since my last blog - I was able to score a fully working Kung Fu Master arcade cab for $50 (YES - $50!) from a fairly local NH warehouse that is liquidating inventory for a former operator. Several members from our regional collector's group the NEACF will be heading back up that way early tomorrow morning for a second run. This warehouse has over 200 working arcade games that they are selling for $50 each. So if you live in the New England area and want a piece of the action, pm me for more details and timing for our next run.
For those who may be local to the Boston area who might want to come by our place and check out some of this gaming goodness, my fiance and I are hosting a BBQ this afternoon (yeah, I know - LATE NOTICE). Check out the gril so far - A Boston Butt (pork shoulder) is pretty much done and the ribs just went on the grill after a quick sear and spice rub. Bring some suds and you all are welcome!
