PAXEast is Just 18 Days Away!

I cannot wait for March 26th to get here and all the PAXEast madness to begin. There is so much going one during the fourth week of this month that I am taking a full 5 days off work so I can soak it all in. My PAXEast experience will officially kick off at 10 am on Wednesday the 24th when Ross (aka Pallidian) and Julie (Lady J) from SFX-360 arrive in Beantown for the week's festivities. We plan to take care of some logistics for our Gamers Gone Wild Event (be there, you will NOT want to miss this party) and then check out a few early events. Thursday is chock full of cool warm-up events, including the PA Community Dinner, Pokemon Bar Crawl and a some very special industry parties or which I am not allowed to speak upon threat of dismemberment. Friday kicks off the real fun as the PAXEast doors swing open at 2:00 pm. I have a ton of meetings set up with various game developers and other industry folks, so stay tuned to this blog for audio (and hopefully video) coverage of all the PAXEast goodness. Then at 3:30 I join DSmooth, Codemonkey and Wombat & Kareem Harper from CheapAssGamer for our panel on Online Gaming Communities and "Real Life" Relationships . So far DSmooth has neglected to forward me an outline or any other indication of what is expected of me during the panel, so be sure to join us for the unscripted chaos and "Pure Excellence" that only we can bring you. I still have not locked down plans for my Friday night "post-PAX" activities, but I am sure that I will have way too many options by the time the eveing rolls around. Lucky me, I have a press pass which grants me early access on Saturday, so I will be lugging my tired (and certainly hung over) butt out of bed around 6 am to make it to the press preview by 8:30 in the wee morn. I think I might have to snag an Irish breakfast (Guiness and hashbrowns in my book) before setting myself loose on the exhibit hall. Around 4 pm we will start to set up for Gamers Gone Wild at Lir. Doors open at 7pm and word of mouth has been insane, so be sure to get there early if you want to get in to meeting Carlos Ferro (the voice of Dom Santiago) and the other special guests we have lined up for this event. The party ends at 1 am, at which time I get to drive 20 minutes North to my bed to sleep for a few hours before starting the madness all over again at 10 am on Sunday. I have most of my developers' meetings scheduled for that day, hoping to be able to mellow a bit and check out what everyone has in store for us in Q3/Q4 2010 (IF I can see straight - I have a bad feeling everything will look like IMAX in 3D without the glasses after Saturday night). Once the halls to the Hynes Convention Center closes its doors and everyone is headed home, then I head out to an industry mixer to meet up with podcasters, developers and other folks on Sunday evening to wrap it all up. Supposedly I am supposed to be at work at my "real" job at 9 am on Monday the 29th. But somehow, I already feel a bit of a flu coming on *cough cough*.

And Now for Something Completely Different . . . .
