PAXEast Is Upon Us!

PAXEast is now only days away. And if you did not get your tickets yet, you are SOL friends, cause they are 100% SOLD OUT. If you weren't able to get tix, you can still join us for our Gamers Gone Wild Party at Lir on Saturday, but get there early as we expect to have a full house. The word is getting out and people are stoked for this event. I have been working very hard to get the Street Fighter Cab for our Street Fighter II Tournament all fixed up and should have her in tip-top shape this week.

So if you fancy yourself a good SF player, get some tips from Justin Wong, current Street Fighter IV World Champion, first (he will be doing demos on the cab for the first part of the evening) and then enter to test your skills against other players. Whoever wins gets to take the Cab home. Not a bad prize for a night of gaming.

If you have not had a chance to check out Caesar's Blog, you should do so. He just posted updated pics of the custom Total Domination Gears of War Xbox 360 Elite that GamerGrafix will be giving away durnig out party to raise money for Child's Play. You can buy tickets for the drawing, even if you cannot be present at the event. And the best part is that Carlos "Dom Santiago" Ferro will be picking the winner at random and then signing the console. This will truly be a one of a kind unit.

I have also been receiving a ton of press emails this week from game developers with news of their special promotions and parties. So far I will be attending a Penny Arcade Forum Meet-up at Red Bones in Somerville ( a few stops up the T from the PAXEast Convention Center) on Wed, a Microsoft developers party on Thursday, a Frag-Dolls Party on Friday, our party on Saturday and a post - PAX dinner for podcasters and online community folks on Sunday. I also plan to hit up Major Nelson's Community Gathering at NERD on Friday Morning and hit up the press preview of the PAXEast floor on Saturday before the general public arrives.

There is so much to cover in the coming week that I will be doing my best to post as many updates as I can. One additional contest that I wanted to let you know about is the Unveiling of Skate 3 and some pretty cool SWAG to be won if you can ride with the best. Check this out.

SKATE 3 will have a big presence at PAX this year. If you haven’t seen much of the game, this is your chance! The full game will be opened for you guys to check out.

Another exciting note to call out – There are going to be some great opportunities to win with SKATE 3 at PAX! We will have two challenges that attendees can participate in:

o Play 3 vs. 3 (w/your friends or other gamers)

o If your team wins 3 of 5 challenges, all members will get a limited edition SKATE 3/PAX East skateboard deck (see attached for deck art)

·; Beat the Meat Challenge

o Play a Hall of Meat challenge where you’re tasked to get a high score

o Beat a certain score and you will win a limited edition SKATE 3/PAX East skateboard deck

o Be the highest score of each day and you will win an X360 Elite with a SKATE franchise pack (Skate, Skate 2 and a copy of SKATE 3 when it becomes available) – 3 to give away in total
