TRON!!

This cab is in generally good condition, though it is in need of sanding, repainting and new side art. I plan to replace the control panel overlay and the screen shroud eventually as well. The cab plays fine. I have been wanting this one for a long time and got lucky on a local buy. I also have a Stargate coming in on Saturday. This will fill out my arcade (for now). Stay tuned for pics of the TRON restore as it progresses.

UPDATE: New TRON Legacy footage up online. Check it out while you can. Don't think Disney will let this slide for long (captured via stealth means at SDCC)

Awesome man. I got a questionand you seem like a good person to ask. I'd like to set up a cabinet, and I'm not interested as much in authint...authentis...umm...*ahem* I'm not interested it in being legit, but functional. I'd like to put a 360 in it along with a couple arcade joysticks. It would be mainly used for fighting games and old school arcade titles (galaga, centipede, etc.) I'd want a modern display in it, probably a vompter monitor. I'd also like to future proof it to make it easy to swap out a new console if needed. Do you think it would be best for me to reetrofit and old cabinet, or build/buy a new one? I need to say though that I've got a lead on a Ms. Pac Man cabinet right now, free to me from a family member if/when I go pick it up.

check out buildyourownarcadecontrols.com. They have a great forum for do-it-yourself'ers there. I would buy an existing cab that is no longer working and gut it. There are a ton of conversions that are painted black and that would work well for what you want to do. Check your local CL for add. Just be sure that you don't buy a classic (if you have heard of the game, consider it a classic) cab that needs work, but that can be restored. Doing so is considered a mortal sin among arcade collectors and will result in your lynching at the hands of an angry mob. Shoot me a pm if you need more help. Good luck and welcome to the addiction.
