She Said Yes!

Tonight I asked my girlfriend of six years to marry me. As luck and the fates would have it, she said yes. Now I know that this website is dedicated to video games and that most of the people here would rather avoid anything resembling romance. However, I consider many here to be members of my extended family and thus wish to share this special evening with them. So if you feel you know me well enough to be considered a RL (Real Life) friend, then by all means please join us in celebrating this moment. We are very lucky to have found one another, considering we met when both of us (to date each unmarried) were in our mid to late 30's. When you get to a certain point, you stop searching for certain things and become resigned to letting life lead the way. At precisely the moment when I decided I was done looking for the "right one" my girl came into my life via an impromtu introduction by a mutual friend. We dated long distance (Virginia Beach to NYC) for six months before taking the plunge to move in together and start a life. That was six years ago and I sincerely consider myself one of the luckiest guys on the planet. She puts up with my hobbies like gaming, surfing and acting 20 years younger than my true age. She laughs with me as we make silly noises in public and banter "that's what she said" quotes back and forth. She is my best friend beyond all others. Thank you Michelle for saying yes and for putting up with my shit. You rock girl.
