Brussel Sprouts

Im off to Brussels tomorrow. Yippee! I cant wait. This is sarcasm. Yay. I could do without the trip. Brussels is OK. A bit like Belgium as a whole really, alright without being anything special to write home about. Add to this the fact that Ill be discussing procurement guidlines using EU funds and ill just be having a whale of a time. The subject of the meeting might not be much fun but its interesting in that I get to meeet people from all over europe, all with slightly different viewpoints. Plus its good to get out of the office and into a different country. Thats one of the good things about being in Europe, jump on a plane and an hour or two  later  you could be in any number of different countries with different cultures. having said that the 7am flight is a killer an Im not flying back until 9pm so a long day is on the cards. oh well, might pick up some truffles to ease the pain.

I cant help the question popping into my head though as soon as I hear Brussels. Why are brussel sprouts named so? theyre not particularly Belgian or do they originate there? I could probably google it but life needs a few mysteries.
