Pluto is a planet no more. It's gone. Well, it's still out there but just not recognised as a planet anymore (It's a terist conspricy I tells ya!). Pluto, I lament your passing. So we now have eight planets. Next time you have a pub quiz that asks how many planets in the solar system you can tell them NO!!!! there's only eight, I demand my points you idiot. If your child comes home from school saying they learned about the 9-planets go and slap the teacher saying NO!!!! you shall not teach my child inexactitudes, Try and keep up you muppet!

Having said that it looks like we'll be getting a few more under the latest classifications so who knows it could be 12 or 15 or what not. In the mean time revel in the ignorance of others as you smuggly interupt saying "well actually that's not strictly true.............."

Keeping watching the sky people. Keep watching the sky.

Yeah, I have been watching this story develop. If the decision had gone the other way, we could have ended up with 12 or so total planets. Xena aka 2003 UB313 which is larger than Pluto was likely to be named Persephone. This would have dramatically increased spelling errors on grade school solar system tests.

I wonder what the planet X theory will now be called then?

spell Persephone? How many will actually pronounce it properly! At least they used to have Disney to keep them right.
