Shared on Tue, 08/01/2006 - 08:31It's Tuseday. I'm Slightly bored. I am deprived of sleep. I am going slightly mad. What's a man to do? Have a wee blog of course.
Justin Gaitlin, you sir, suck hairy baws. Which is a joke since I have no wish to incur a libel lawsuit. However, I am still disgusted with you. I could have believed you were potentially innocent until a disgruntled masseur was blamed for rubbing a cream on your wittle wegs, boo hoo. Come on, get a grip on reality. That poor excuse sealed it for me. That and the fact your coach seams to be pushing more drugs than Columbians. If you were a serious athlete you would have stayed away from a coach with more drug cheats than the Tour de Farce. I used to be an athlete. I was alright but never world class but I still dreamed. Guys like you tarnished the dream. I don't pay much attention to the sport I loved because I don't trust it anymore. It used to be the East Germans we pointed the finger at but now it looks like every American at the top of their game is under suspicion. For me it was about how you did against the clock, nothing else. It was the buzz of a personal best that made running worthwhile. Do the best that you could do. If you take drugs then it is no longer how good you are but how good your chemist is. Your times and achievements are not your own. I don't understand you cheaty people.
I suppose that pales into insignificance alongside things such as the Israeli atrocities of the last couple of days. A country has a right to defend itself. No doubt about that but the ends cannot justify the means. I would not generalise for the entire Israeli population or any country as a whole for that matter but the government and armed forces don't seem too bothered about Lebanese civilians. An "Eye for an Eye" isn't acceptable I'm afraid in a modern civilised world, or so I thought. Israel has had a tough time over the years but they don't exactly try to make friends either. There was a march on against the American embassy here last night. A futile gesture. How can Condi be going out there to broker peace and cease-fires when there are plane loads of bombs following her out for Isreal to use? That is taking the piss, quite frankly. Shaking hands while swinging a punch with the other. Not to mention the bombs are going through my country without permission and without anyone being told. Mr Bush, you really do not give damn about anyone else, do you? Let's be honest.
It's all very sad. I just wish there was peace. There and everywhere else.
Maw and Paw were staying with us over the weekend. They are heading home tonight. It was great to see them. They came purley to see their only Grandson of course. The wee man was in great form with them and they had a ball with him. He has been a little monster at night though. Kept us up for hours over the last couple of nights. you can forgive him though when you get that winning smile from him.
Currently I have in my hand the largest rubber band (elastic band if you prefer) that I have seen for many a long year. It's evil looking and would do some damage. I will have someones eye out if I'm not careful, as my mother would say. How it would do that, I am not entirely sure but I always believed her. So why stop now?
