Lebanon: 1100 dead, 3698 killed, 702400 people displaced, 15000 homes destroyed, 73 bridges destroyed, 3% shrink of Economy, $2.5Billion in reconstruction costs.
Israel: 157 dead, 1450 killed, 300,000 displaced, 6000 homes destroyed, $1.6Billion Military costs, 50% reduction in tourism
General: $100Million Environmental cost off coast of lebanon due to powerplant destruction, Hezbullah still armed and functioning, Israeli soldiers still captive.
Doesn't look like anyone won, does it? Or perhaps you could say Hezbollah won?
Israel lost less than Lebanon I suppose. In financial and social terms at least. Perhaps Israel lost more military reputation? Makes you wonder what the point of it all was. At least there's a bit of ceasfire. For the moment. Perhaps as the smoke clears some people will "wise up"? Nah, don't be daft.
