It's been over a year and a half since I blogged. Last one was painful and the pain, though reduced is still there. But no crises now. My cancer continues grow but after 19 years and many surgeries and treatments, it's hard to get excited about it. Been playing  a LOT of Destiny, looking forward to the new COD on tomorrow and, of course, HALO MCC next week! So Destiny may take a back seat for awhile. I hadn't played much Xbox for awhile with only an occasional over 50 Halo night until I got the Xbox One, Titanfall and then Destiny.

I regret that I have to report a tragic time for our family. Our granddaughter, Alena Ruth Nightoak took her life last Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, April 2/3. She was almost 16 years old and will be missed immensely by all of us. She lived in Marshall, WI and has been the object of both radio and television stories in the Madison area. Her obituary can be found here. There has been a lot of speculation that bullying was a large factor in her death.

GOVX AND ELECTRONIC ARTS TEAM UP FOR MEDAL OF HONOR WARFIGHTER MILITARY EDITION

A new place opened here in Elk Grove, IL called Voodoo Larry. Actually the grand opening and open house will be August 5th. Drove by there today on the way to pick up dinner and saw a hot rod parked out front. Awesome!

First, I wanted to let everyone know that our nephew, Sean continues to do well with his leukemia. Although the treatment is continuing and is sometimes really hard on him, he keeps his cheerful attitude and can generally do what kids his age normally would do.

No need for prayers or mojo, etc. but I had a motorcycle accident last September (9/11/11 to be exact). Had 6 broken ribs, broken ankle, and a thumb that was broken in two places, One was so shattered that it required a bone graft. I  put the bike down on the pavement starting at about 40 mph to avoid rearending a couple of cars that braked HARD to avoid some guy passing us in the right lane that was ending and he cut in. The bike had $3500 damage but is all fixed up now and I will be able to pick it up in a week or two.

My 3 1/2 year old nephew, Sean, (brother-in-law's grandson) has been battling a problem for over a month now. They thought originally that it was appendicitis so they operated on him but the appendix was fine (they took it out anyway). Been to several hospitals and then this week he was admitted to our local hospital, then to a children's hospital nearby and now down at the University of Chicago Children's Hospital where they have confirmed a diagnosis of leukemia today. We took his grandmother (my wife's sister in law) down there today to be with him and his parents.
