Moving to NYC!

Hey all. I recently took a job with a company in New York City. Being that I am American by birth, Southern by the grace of God, I am looking forward to the many nuances in life that the city and all of those "Yankees" (not the baseball team) have to offer. My wife and I decided to move up just for fun for a few years before we settle down and have kids.

Email Fowarders...

So I was ready through some blogs just now and ran across SoupNazzi's latest entry about several things that piss him off.  The last one on his list being email fowarders.

Question about Suits and Overcoats?

Being from the South (yes, I capitalized the 'S' in South on purpose), I rarely see cold weather unless I am on vacation.  Also, the fact that I am a computer nerd by trade, means that I rarely have to wear much more then pants and a short sleeve shirt (and no, I dont work for the Geek Squad).

That being said, I have an interview tomorrow in Manhattan.  I own a black suit and can borrow a khaki overcoat from my father-in-law.  Does my suit and my overcoat need to match?  Would I be better just not taking the overcoat since it is a different color then my suit?

One Helluva Week!

Wow.  I am glad it is Friday and that this week is almost over!  It has been awful.  I head up an IT Department for a CPA firm and many of my users have been very needy this week.  Also, we did a major upgrade to our system last weekend and changed phone service companies.  All of that together has made for a long and very stressful week.

Happy New Year!

I am heading out of town with the in-laws tonight.  We are going to Gatlinburg, TN  to get out of town for a few days and relax.  Bad news is that I have to leave my new friend behind.  My shiny new XBOX 360 will have to sit at home all alone.  I was thinking of having a buddy check in on it every couple of days, but alas, that may just confuse my 360.  When they are that age, you really have to be careful who you introduce them to.  I don't want my 360 thinking that my friend coming over to check on it, is it's new owner and forget all about me.
