Or do games lately just suck?

I ask this because recently I've found myself browsing stores looking for something new to play. The problem is, nothing appeals to me. I go back home and browse my shelf and find that I'd much rather be playing games released 3 or 4 years ago than games that have come out in the past 3 or 4 months. I find it a little disheartening that there's just nothing out right now that makes me go "Man, I just HAVE to play that!"

Every year Ottawa plays host to Bluesfest. The name is a bit misleading as it's moved away from it's blues-based roots and has become a full blown music festival. Some huge names roll through here every year thanks to the festival and this year has proven no different. Over the past week I've seen Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, and Rush at the festival and, I have to say, all three are at the top of my list of awesome shows. I can't believe I've waited so long to see them live.

The wife and I both have birthdays in the beginning of June so we've both been out shopping for each other. One thing I love about her (and I'm sure she loves about me) is that we both SUCK at holding onto good gifts for each other. It never fails. Christmas, anniversaries, birthdays, it's always the same, we wind up just having dinner because we've gotten our gifts early. This year is no different. She dragged me out to Futureshop yesterday to pick up my present:

Ok, I think Mother Nature took me a little too seriously when, in my previous post, I said "screw summer." I think she misunderstood me. I meant to say I'm excited for November. I didn't mean for her to just forego summer. I was actually enjoying the weather we had here. Yesterday was unimaginably beautiful. Hell, at work I've been keeping the garage doors open all day because of how warm and sunny it's been.
