You can start PvPing and WvWing at level 2. You get auto-leveled to 80 in those zones so you can be competitive and you will feel like you are contributing. If you happen to fight someone in WvW who is actually level 80 and has good gear you will get killed in about 1-2 hits but that's why it's better to run with a group/guildmates.
True. Also for sPvP, all traits, points, armor and weapons are available. And you can respec and equip at will. It's supposed to be strictly about skill, not gear.

Good to know about the level. I didn't want to show up w/ a lvl 10 toon and wind up being more of a hindrance than a help.
What's really killing our server is the night capping. I checked tonight and the team that's winning actually held the least amount of territory. It sucks as our server is pretty solid in WvWvW.
So much for server matching balancing out. We are up against Blackgate again this week, which is cool, we are pretty evenly matced with them. But now we face Yak's Bend. They dominated last week as a high population server with a strong night group...
Well Blackgate is totally trouncing us and Yaks Bend. 2-1 in the scores. Looks like we're due for a switch. I still don't get why the 2 losing servers don't attack the winning one only. Also, is there even enough population to handle the 4 battlegrounds?
Based on my experiences this week I'd say Gates of Madness has had a mass exodus of guilds leaving the server. The longest I've had to wait in a queue for WvW this week was maybe 5 minutes during primetime, but most of the time it's just been instant for EB or whatever Borderland I q'd for. And once in there it's been very appararent that Blackgate had twice our numbers, add to that Yak's Bend putting forth a pitiful effort and spending most of their time coming after GoM and it's been incredibly frustrating this week.
Last week we got beaten due to night-capping but at least during the day we were taking shit back and making a good effort. I'll wait to see what happens with tonights new match up but unless we get a population boost or just get paired up with 2 other low pop servers I'll probably be looking to server transfer. I really like GW2 but in it's current state once you hit 80 there is absolutley nothing to do but WvW or level another profession.
According to server lists at the transfer screen, GoM is a heavily populated server. I think GW2 is just having issues with WoW's expansion pack. So many people are playing that now, look at our guild even. We used to have a ton on, now it's lucky to have 5-8 people on at the same time. I'm willing to guess that's across the board. They probally pulled a SWToR and created way too many servers at the get go.
As it stands, I can't see the point of keeping the other battlegrounds. Who's even in those?
Server change means we lose any perks that the guild has built up. It's a shame they didn't find a way to transfer guilds. For a game called Guild Wars, they sure make it so hard to play as a guild.
I think Borderlands has torn away at the population too probably. I know I'm stuck on that right now. Still nice to know I can always go back to GW2 without re-upping a sub though.
A few of us moved to Eredon Terrace and it's been a fun week of WvWvW. Seems like there's really just 4 servers that are competive as the 2 we're facing now have got their ass kicked. Next week we'll go up against Henge Of Denravi and either StormBuff Isle or Jade Quarry. HoD is supposed to be completely bad ass, so this should be interesting.
We may not get moved up according to what I'm reading in the forums. I think one of the top 3 servers needs to drop a lot of points, which currently they are not. So it may be the same battles next week.

Yeah, I am really looking forward to tomorrow night. Even if ET ends up getting it's ass kicked I expect it to be one hell of a fight all week.

Hmm, well that wouldn't be too bad, it was a fun week. Maybe CD will drop down and Dragonbrand will move up and provide more of a challenge.
I bet CD will definately move down and DB or BG will move up. I wonder what the score in that match is. Blackgate trounced GoM last week.
