The nurburg ring was AMAZING and the rental company RSR is a first class outfit. I woudl recommend them to anyone who is driving the ring.
DO NOT try to go here on a weekend. The first video is from a sunday, the second is the following monday. It was truly madness on sunday, I could only get 2 laps in in 4 hours due to so much wrecking....I was able to do 9 laps in less than 2 hours the next day. I even took my 5 month pregnant wife out for a lap at the end of the day in the lotus.
If you are wondering why I am going so damn slow, its beacause I was on the hook for $50k if I wadded up a car.
Check out the 4 minute mark in the 1st video (m3) A crashed motorcycle cracer runs out infront of my car! luckily I had seen the flashing yellow light a few turns earlier.

Very cool man. I have some friends that are in the US Air Force stationed in Germany at the moment... both of them have 3rd gen RX7s that they take to the ring.
i was surprised how many americans I met, all of whom were stationed in Ramstein.
who is coming with me for the next trip for a true track day (not a normal public day) out there?

Some nice driving there, what on earth was the guy doing in the black SUV at the start in the exige..
in regards to the SUV they let anyone out there. no tech, no briefing. pay and go. so you have to expect idiots around every bend. thats why I am going to go back and do a closed track day with an insured vehicle. ill put together a video of all the idiots...there are plenty of moments.
Well just aswell you were on the ball with it - It would have been very easy to assume that he was going to stay right and let you through.

How do I adjust my FM4 screen settings to match the view in your Exige video?
Any spots where your brain was telling you one thing and the track another, as in, the video games were off and memory was contrary to what was in front of you?
The track looks quite narrow to me right off.
the track feels narrow on FM and it is narrow in reality, it feels like there is less run off in reality as well.
the main difference was the elevation was much more severe than the game, and the blind spots were much more sketchy since you had to expect a parked car or an oil slick. There were places where I would have been WOT where I just had to lift out and see what the conditions were like.
I did notice the run off curbs looked a lot smaller...the chicanes after the pit exit was the first example.
