I put some time into sPvP and it's almost good.  I really like the fact that armor and weapons are all on the same level.  The grind is for Barbie dress up.  Sure people want loot and to have better shit than the next but I think that's just a bad idea for PvP matches.  Especially paid tournaments.  It's why SWToR's Rateds never took off.  You'd face completely geared teams that would nuke others.  And the grind was terrible.  I played SWToR PVP everynight and it took forever to get most of my War Hero gear.  I played way too many games.

I like how I can change shit up to try a different build.  I first started my Warrior with rifle / sword and warhorn but have since changed it to Rifle/ war hammer.  And I have all new items in my armor.  And it costs nothing.

That said, I'm not crazy with the actual matches or game play.  Maybe it's becaue I've just played with randoms and not with teams.  Or maybe I'm not crazy about the game types.  I really think SWToR had better battlegrounds and gametypes.  Nova Coast was great,  you could only score if you held 2 out of 3 spots.  This allowed for teams to actually mount a comeback.  Hopefully GW2 implements games like that.

I've done a fair bit of pvp and its very good for learning a bit more about your class!

I also managed to do the pve dungeons CM and the lower one on story mode - Next up is TA :D

Get into some WvW, it's a blast.   That's mostly what I do.  I'll do sPvP if I have an hour to kill, anything longer is WvW.  I have yet to do a dungeon, someday I'll try them.

I did get some nice but not amazing  gear from the dungeon, it was quite hard work as there isn't really a defined tank class.

I've taking a couple of keeps in the WvW and almost took a castle thing, we broke through and took 2 of the areas or so before our attack thinned out too much and we lost it.   Thinks are getting better with the ranger now i'm figuring out the class a little more :)

I'd be up for some sPVP or tPVP.  Ran in a tPvP last week and my team came in 2nd.  If you're not on Stormbuff Isle (server) then move to it.  We have a few 2o2p members there and it's a very active server (WvW and PVE).

I would love to see some SWTOR styled warzones in GW2.  I know people hated Huttball, but that's because they had no clue how to play it.  Once you had a team that would work together, it was a good time.  Also, Novare Coast was another great warzone.  You need to hold 2 of 3 points to score.  This allowed you to comeback from big deficits and keep the game interesting.

Finally, I think they need to rework how points are given.  Currently, you really want to be in the red circle capping points to gain extra glory points.  What sucks is that capture takes just as long with 1 person as it does with 5.  They need to just hand out X amount of points for wins or find a better system.

Yeah, I loved SWTOR's PvP.  I actually re-installed the game and am waiting for it to go free to play next month to do some more of it.  Unfortunately, I think ANet's obsession with eSports will probably prevent any sort of creative experimentation with gametypes in PvP for GW2.

SWTOR F2P will only allow you 3 war zones per week. That's not much. They should consider lowering the subscription to under 10. I bet they'd get more subscribers.

Agreed.  In fact I would have no problem paying 5 a month just to play Warzones.

I think when they go F2P,  they will do something like this.  Where if all you do is Warzones, you can pay for just warzones.  How much, I don't know.

3 a week?  That's pretty pointless then...  even 3 a day would be tough to swallow.  Ah, well.  I might consider a lower subscritpion for SWTOR, but I'd need to see that Warzones were actually active first.  When I quit the game you'd stand around for hours without having one pop.
