Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Matchmaking Explained

Black Ops 2 matchmaking will use Latency/Ping instead of region based to create games.  Hopefully this will reduce host migration and dropped games issues.

I'll believe it when The Games play smoothly and Joining matchmaking while in a party doesn't take three trys.

This is a tough topic.  If you are joining a game solo, in most to all cases people don't have a big issue.

The bigger probelm is when you join games in a party that is not always located in the same area.  If I am in a praty in Pa and have someone in from Ca, one of use is usually screwed.  In Theory if they use the ping measure, then a host in the middle of the US should be picked (assuming we both have hte same ping to the new host).

On paper that sounds good but does this get back to host advantage?  How does the Host lag comp work, cause it was shit in the last couple games.

I agree with Cerb.  I do feel this is a good way to do it but i see this breaking when we create parties of people spread out all over the country.  Wait and see as always.
