So I just happened across this thread while looking for something else, and just wanted to give everyone my opinion regarding private servers. I'm a huge MC fan and would play up to 18hrs a day when it first came out. I'm a total addict. ( I know, get a life) lol. Anyway, since it's release, the biggest topic on forums has been about how to run a private server on XB. The problem was that all these people had good intentions, and really did work hard at it. The problem became that these servers were booming at first with many users, and then one day, poof, 1, maybe 2 people a day. I saw this so many times while tring to find that perfect place to call home. Eventually the owner would just take it offline and un-friend everyone that used to be there. Very frustrating. I almost want to not even bother looking trying again. But it gets too old playing alone. So here I am.
Now before everyone starts with the hate posts, I am NOT saying this is a bad idea. I just feel that it's coming out wrong. All I am trying to do is give some ideas before someone commits to running it, and tel you my experiences in the past. Looking back at older posts, there is potential as it seems most of you already know each other, which helps emensly. I don't remember who it was, but made a comment about someone who has had theres running for a while, and is up most of thetime. With the release of the newest update, there is so much potential, and many new options for the admin regarding griefing and making it almost obsolete.
Bottom line here, I would love to be part of this, if everyone is willing to contribute, have fun, and and just enjoy the game we all love. I could probably do a let's play series unless someone else wanted. And I'm sorry if I stepped on toes here, I mean no disrespect. I just like helping and being part of things. FR if you like. I sent you a FR from the 2old2dig FOF gamertag. I'm not sure how many people use it these days, but hopefully it helps people find other people to play with. Not a dedicated server, but still helpful if you see a friend of the tag with an open game.
OK, Thx. FR accepted, and I'll head over there after a bit. Ironically enough i'm in the middle of installing a 1 TB drive in my PS3 which sadly does not have MC. Is it a new seed since the Adventure update came out?

It's not a server. It's just a way to find other 2o2p people playing minecraft that you can join up with if they are online and allow friends of friends to join their world.
Time4aBeverage has the always running dedicated server.

Do Not Steal. Replant what you take. Dont cut stems from pumpkin and melons. Ask another player if you got a question....
