The email they'll be sending out is for people who've played multiplayer in the time period of release day to Nov. 20. They'll be sending a marketplace code to the email associated with your gamertag "BY" Dec. 1st, so, it's possible you could receive it before then, though unlikely. None of that matters if you purchased the Limited Edition of the game, as all specializations should be available to you already. If they're not, it's possible you've missed something.
If you did not play any multiplayer in that time frame, you'll be limited to the 2 specializations (Operator and Wetwork) until a later time when 343 decides to unlock the rest. There has been no word as of yet when that might be.
Edit: The "email associated with your gamertag" may differ for you, and may no longer be an address you check. Many people are complaining that they're not even aware what address that would be for them. For me personally, when I buy marketplace points, I get an email confirmation in my gmail account, but to sign into any xboxlive site on the internet, I need to use my old hotmail account.
FYI, at least for me, in the top left corner of your home screen, my gamer tag and associated email address flash back and forth. That might be helpful if you forgot yours.
Really not a fan of them unlocking these for non-LE owners soon. I know this will probably be an unpopular opinion, but I spent $40 more than the regular edition to get some perks - and even with playing every day I'm just barely getting to SR50 right now. So if unlocked soon, then I should've just saved the $40 and bought the map pack.
you unlock your first ability to choose a specialization at 50, BUT you do not get to use that specializtion until you reach 60. If you are an LE purchaser you will have access to choose one of any of the specializations at 50 (getting to use it at 60). If you did not purchase the LE version then on or after 11/30 they will be sending out the email dealios to be able to choose something other then the intial 2 specializations initially released.
plus a bunch of skins, armor, avatar stuff, and the forward unto dawn full series - and the exclusive specializations early. That was worth the extra $15 to me. Plus a sweet case. :)
51-60, I think.
the other ones will be unlocked when "the community reaches a cerain acheivment". whatever that means.
Word on the street is December 1st.
thanks

A ton of people were switching from the LE to the SE before the release. I honestly saw no good reason to buy the LE copy of H4.

Map Pack = $25
