Downloaded this today and am happy to say I'm glad I waited until the PC version dropped to grab this. My sons friend from accross the street had the 360 version and the differences are quite apparent. While it's not deep with customization options what they did provide (High rez textures for environment and player models, Shadows, Tesselation and Anti AA with a rock solid framerate) make me glad I was patient. As to the game itself it's AC with all of the things that you love and hate about the series. You will run up a wall instead of ducking into a ally then fall down to be stabbed in the back so Ubi soft still hasn't perfected the controls. Combat while still too easy is at least more engaging then previous entries. You will dig the kill animations with all the different weapons especially the Tomahawk. You will hate the gun mechanic but since you can't miss and we are talking about powder loading firearms it's balanced in my opinion. Like I stated I'm glad I waited.
I am glad I waited. I will be definitely getting the pc version.
was going to get this for the PC but my boys went out and bought in on the PS3 yesterday so I guess that's where I'll be playing it.
How are the controls? I bought AC2 but couldn't play more than a couple times, the keyboard layout was insanely confusing.
Why use a keyboard/mouse at all? Get a wired or wireless 360 controller for pc. The normal wired 360 controller is usb so it's plug and play out of the box. I own the wireless one which has a usb dongle that your controller will sync with just like you would a 360. Run my gaming pc on my big screen through hdmi so it's basically a suped up console now anyway. Most multiplatform games have controller support built in. Even some RTS like the recent Xcom had controller support for pc so that's how I play that one as well. Heck I have a program called pinnacle controller mapper that let's me play guild wars 2 and KOTOR on them. It's not perfect but for a game like guild wars it works pretty damn well.
I would suggest the wired controller ($35 on amazon) cause I can't find that damn wireless adapter anywhere.
It my sound funny but I don't use the keyboard for any of my games. Like Mr.402, I also use pinnacle controller mapper. I play most if not all my games that way. I bought my wireless adapter from amazon. I'll check and see if the same people still provide it.
Edit: The company where I bought my wireless adapter from still sell them. Here is the link.
K+M or die!
:) Actually I use my 360 controller for some games (Super Meat Boy, Bastion....a couple others).
But.. but.. I thought this was 2old2WASD!
Like Squatterbug, I haven't been able to find the wireless adaptor anywhere and I already have a bunch of wireless 360 controllers. But I'll probably pick this up anyway, looks awesome.
LOL
