Maybe the ODBG was founded by retired Kurita pilots who hired themselves out to House Kurita when the state needed them (coming out of retirement when needed). After early successes the Old Dragon Battle Group expanded, drawing in pilots from around the inner sphere and extending the operational range outside of Kuritan interests.
After years of loyal service to house Kurtia a few mechwarriors were given a well deserved retirement from active duty. As an reward for their years of loyal service each of them were given Katana's with ancient battle dragons engraved on the blade by the co-ordinator himself. They were also given special emblems to show their special status in society and also allowed to keep their favourate mech to help defend their homes and the state in times of emergency for their loyal service. After some defensive actions to defend their homes after their retirement, those few mechwarriors decided that they still had the fire and wanted to form a mercenary group. As their success grew more mechwarriors wanted to join their ranks from within the Draconis Combine and outside as well. So goes the story of the original founding members of the old dragon battle group.

Sounds really good Raven I'd like to see what Divines idea is, then see where we go from there.

On the other topic, I switched up my sig Using the that sweet skelly Ferret provided, Added the KI, and used a rusted steel backgroud. Thought the rust looked sweet and I feel old and rusty most days. Also added my self to the scout lance since i have abusing Gater;s Raven build and am digging it.
When you're killing mechs, you're providing support fire for someone I'm sure! I would have used a Cat for support lance but only Cynfire drives Cats IIRC. Lots more Hunchies. Which is technically a support mech I suppose.
I was wondering what medium and heavy lances would be called. I think I like Striker for mediums, the move in hit, then move away, a mix of speed and firepower.
I'm using the names of three of the four lances in the Grey Death Legion - the fourth being Command Lance. I didn't think any of us were appropriate for that :) Certainly nothing is written in stone... I can easily make adjustments if folks want that, and the .psds are available if anyone uses Photoshop and wants to make their own tweaks!
I'll do you one better... I'll post the .psds somewhere and you can put whatever you like on it. Love what you did with the sig, Cynfire! I emailed you the .psds, meant to include you in the mail to Polteg but you'll get it as a forward.

Why be old? We could just be a rougue group, that has no history... just like me after each game.... very hard to remember how it went....
