But my work connection is not as good as at home :(
doing 500k down now.... it is over 2Gig file.
says 1 1/2 hours estimated. so I'll let you know later on this morning. I hope it is not as demanding as MWO or else my laptop wont be able to play it either :(
I played a game of it, it was fun. I'll probably go back. It's more like COD/Halo than it is like MWO, but realistically, it's somewhere in between I guess. My fear isn't that it'll compete with MWO, but with those games... I have enough FPSs already.
ya I watched a vid and what I saw made me think this is Halo. Platformy maps, halo jumping mechs, grav lifts.... All they need now is an elite's sword or brutew's smashy hammer.
Definetly not as slow paced and methodical as MWO. It is however a lot of fun. Mechs have infinite ammo but do experience over heating. The pay-to-play model is not pay-to-win (mostly cosmetic and you can buy different mechs but the starting mech is a good mech). Still requires a lot of team work and a lone wolf probably won't do very well - you have to stay with a buddy or two for sure. Dodging is a lot of fun and a skill. You can shoot down enemy rockets which is another skill. As with Halo if you jump around a lot you are just going to get lit up because you are slow floating target. You can customize your mechs quite a bit. The game plays super great, smooth, lag free, great handleing and controls. Siege mode is a lot of fun. Basically you have to go and retrieve energy in order to launch this enormous battle ship that is going to the enemy base to destroy it. After launching the ship you want to hold the AA guns in the middle of the map so that the enemy team doesn't take control of it to shoot the big ass ship down. All the while the other team has the exact same goals. It's a very good team based mode.
They do a good job of giving your mech weight / sound etc. but really it is about half mech and half modern day FPS. Not a bad thing unless you are looking for a more sim mech experience in which case you want MWO.
and this reminds me ..... I have to get back into MWO - the tought of blowing off limbs and tactically managing heat / movement / terrain etc. has me all excited lol hopefully I'll be back on over the Christmas break :)
downloading now.
