So people what did Santa bring?

What did Santa bring to you? I got a nice Samsung Galaxy 7inch tab. It will definitely make using the forums and doing all my Forza stuff easier, it's a nice piece of kit.

Share with us what you got.

I'm just hoping Parcells got a better grasp on reality. wink

I had such high hopes for you my young padawan, but I see your passage to the dark side is almost complete.

I got a Thrustmaster TH8RS shifter and Bash's adapter to make it work with a FANATEC wheel.  Some tin signs to decorate the Racing Room...and some underwear. Nice.

On Christmas eve, I ordered the Porsche 911 GT2 Wheel - Clubsport edition, which includes the Clubsport V2 pedals, and shifters.  Fanatec is running a special pkg on their web site that  I couldn't pass it up. Also picked up the RennSport v2 stand.. It's supposed to ship today.  Pretty excited!

Good start!  You'll like the wheel.  That set up is pretty much exactly what I went with when I got my first wheel for the xBox (still got it too 109).

I liked the GT2 so much, I went w/ a GT3RS for the computer rig when things spiraled out of control.  151  Of course the fact I was able to put the whole rig together for the cost of the CSW aided in the decision.  So now I keep the GT2 bolted to the Rennsport Stand, and just swap pedals back and forth when I fire up the xBox or PS3 (though I'm still back on the controller for Forza).

I got a new Turtle Beach X-Ray headset, which replaces my broken PX-5 headset.  I also got a copy of Nascar the Game Inside Line (aka 2012) for Xbox, I finished buying all content from iRacing, including the new McLaren MP-4 and I got one of Bash's SFA-1 adapters so that I can use my THR8S shifter in Forza.

Got a new 50" plasma screen which will be going up in my tv room above the garage in our new house. I love my wife who got me my very own gaming TV that no one else gets to touch. Oh ya, and a really good set of earbud headphones, which will be amazing to use while snowboarding.

Santa brought me a Nexus 7 - very nice bit of kit, even compared to the wife's ipad2. Couple of great books and a healthy amount of amazon voucherage.

I'm a happy boy.

The other half got me my 55 3D tv  and the usual other bumf... And the worst flu I have ever experienced in my entire life! I done some messed up stuff to my self and my body over many years, but I have never, ever experienced anything like this ever before!

Im pretty sure flu virus are  released into the public domain every winter by beechams or Glaxo as I swear they must have taken apx £50 off me alone this year!

Also, all the while I was having weird hallucinations, it's was completely off the chart for me!

Hope you all had an incredible Xmas folks :)

Hmm, kids got laptops, one of them a used Cherokee, wife got an I-phone5 and a new 32" for her office, and I got...I don't think I got anything, Oh, except my son's girlfriend got me a "Top Dog" figure of Snoopy on CHarlie Brown's head.

Anyway, it's not the gift, it's the giving and there's some truth to that.

Those  of you that didn't know, lost the Mother n law a week ago Tuesday, and that's been a rough ride around here, but it's getting better. The wife's been pretty rocky, hills n valleys, but it IS getting better. OMeltyD thank you for the words of advice, they were all I had, and spot on as the Euro's seem to say.

Thanks for being who you are guys, it really helps.

That sucks OS.  157

We lost my grandfather a few years back during the holidays.  It was actually right after I took a jump after the Navy and started at WWU.  Just moved into my own apartment a few weeks prior.  Made for a very lonely holiday season.  At least you had family around to help support each other...I'm sure that helps in the healing department.

Been there, sucks.  I know there isn't a damn thing I can do beyond wishing you and your family the best.  Give a shout if there's anything we can do.

Cheers mate.

3 watches,  I think people are trying to tell you something. Tablets seem to be the present this year. I will not be commenting on the chocolates as I am going to be good this Christmas. 37

Oldschool Christmas can be tough when you lose someone close. My mother died Christmas 4 years ago, it's at times like that it's good to have family to help. Best wishes to you and your family.

Never had a problem with either my CSR or Fanatecs customer support. It's easy to get a slanted view as people who have no problems don't tend to post that fact as opposed to those that do. The Porsche range are well tried and tested and very rarely cause trouble.

Xmas haul

Fanatec Elite...Awesome.

HP Ultrabook

Laser Pattern Projector, that's been throwing patterns of light over the bank of trees over the road from us, very cool.

Latest Terry Pratchett novel

I agree Knight.  I am currently sitting on my third broken CSR Elite, but I am nonetheless satisfied with Fanatec's product line, which I have spent thousands of $$$$ on, and I have been pleased overall with their customer service.  My fourth Elite arrives on Friday.  I knew going in that I was buying a new product, that had not been battle tested.  The Porsche and CSR wheels are excellent and have a proven track record of reliability.  No electronics work perfectly all of the time.

Everyone says when they work there awesome :) but 3 in just over a year zero ? damn man you have some serious patience, i would have lost my shit after the 2nd one and asked for a refund!

Everything has glitches at first but if it lasts less than a yr iam i become vvery skepitical of the product especially at the prices of there high end stuff.

Tho iam still eyeballing the gt3 rs deal they have on for $260 i can justify that lol but if it breaks.........any word if logitech has any plans for new wheels?

I have seen nothing about a new wheel from Logitech.  The G27 has been out for several years now.  My suspicion is that Logitech is just riding the G27 as long as it can.  I wonder if Logitech plans to stay in the racing wheel market, or whether the G27 and the DFGT are the last wheels they will manufacture???

This is an awesome deal.  You get the GT3RS, which is a proven, reliable wheel, the CSR Elite pedals, which come with a load cell brake, and the CSR shifter set, which is a step up from the Porsche shifter set.  All for $260.  You cannot beat that deal with anything out there, including from Logitech.

Yes, this deal caught my eye too when I was ordering, but the GT3 will not work with Forza (xBox) and I really wanted the Club Sport pedals.  So,  I chose the GT2 / Club Sport pkg instead.
