I caught Dixon

I caught Dixon Tufar rummaging around my SUBNOVAHENGE map trying to find a weakness. For that I am very thankful. I had a good chuckle too.

He seemed to be looking for a weakness/strength in the high perches. Camping the teleporters does work a bit, as they always do, but the Energy Cells proved his unmaking. Twice. :)

I wish Halo 4 could make films of his rummaging. I had a good chuckle when the cells exploded.

Thanks Dixon. smiley

The perches are anathema to the rest of the map you're trying to create..  Fusion cores are a bad idea, they've always been a bad idea, and they'll continue to be a bad idea.  The way to fix a map isn't a gimmick, it's fixing the map.  Close the ring, introduce another level inside the ring, and maybe you've got something to work with.

Ultimately you may be correct but I want the Henge replica to standout and I can only cover it up so much. I've already not included the Bluestone ring and horseshoe to avoid framerate problems. I also didn't think competitive players would like them. You can see them in my Megalith map.

The fuel cells are a solution in the same way they were eventually used on Powerhouse. Advantageous positions can still be used but not forever. I'll have to torture all of 2old2play to get a good feel for how the map works. So far, the perches hardly ever get used. I'll be making small changes and tweaking. No one seems to get confused on the map. The skybox and landscape are perfect for directionality.

I'd love to complete some dedicated testing but it takes people and time and it's not worth the extra bother unless 343i shows interest in the map.

A lot of competitive players like the Octagon style of map but that's not what I wanted to build. BTW. There is a rebuilt version of Relay (by SaLOT or Big Papa Salot (same dude second name is GT to Search file share Edited by LB) that is gathering a bit of MLG and 343i (BravoMLG) attention. It kind of fills that style you are thinking of.

Nah, I'm getting crankier and crankier when it comes to Halo, and getting more and more fed up.
