I'm interested in joining a squad for multiplayer.  Some of the achievements are tied to squad-based play.  GT: n8g8e

Tainted quiet, what is your gamertag?  Are any of you already in a squad?  If not, we should get one started.

Still on the fence about picking this one up.  The redbox rental wasn't much help without the Uplay passport for the online modes.

QFT.

UbiSoft cheapened (ruinied) the name of Ghost Recon with Future Soldier.

Nothing about Future Soldier is like what made the brand great in the past; Huge open outdoor areas, multiple objectives you can tackle in most any order, strategically loading out your squads, using multiple squads to flank/surround opponent positions, first person persective, slow deliberate pacing,  no regenerating health, no respawns in mp, etc.

Future Soldier is obviously the result of much marketing analysis, creating a shooter that will maximize profits and appeal to the broadest audience possible. The DudeBro influences of CoD & Gears are obvious too. Compared to the original, this game is arcade ADHD garbage.

The original, and still the best Ghost Recon for sophisticated adults.  RlP Ghost Recon:

It's awesome.  The only thing that sucks is the networking.  Either the match will be smooth or it will be extremely laggy.  The other issue is it evens out the teams, so your party can get split up.

BUT the single player is good and can be very intense.  The multiplayer is team based scoring.  Killing someone does not neccesarily count as a score for your team.  It will count as XP for you though - but not much.  You get more XP by doing team work.  For example, a regular kill is like 75XP.  Now, a kill while an engineer marked someone up, +100XP.  Someone hacks a guy.  If you use your cordination dial to kill that person after the hack, another 300XP I believe.  Protecting the bomb carrier +100 XP on top of the kill XP.

As for scoring it is based off teamwork.  For example, just killing someone may not result in a point.  But killing someone that is detected (by a sensor ball or UAV) is 2 points for the team.

It's funny, the CoD mentality does not work here.  My group often goes up agianst people that take the bomb back to their base and put it in the spawn area so we can't get it.  They are thinking they can win without doing the objective? When we see a team doing that they are making it too easy for us.  If we do get the bomb by chance we are close to the drop off, thanks!  otherwise we get two engineers to put up their drones and we just get the extra points form detection kills.  They will be in their spawn, we just mark them up and shoot fish in a barrel.  It's not fun but hopefully it teaches them that tactic does not work in this game.

We have won games easily but hardly got any kills while three people on the other team got 30+ kills.  The game is not about K/D, it's about team work.

There is spawn camping and people are starting to figure out how to keep the game from recognizing it.  If the game recognizes you are being spawn camped it will give you an alternate spawn location.  the best is whena team is trying to spawn camp you and you sneak right through them with the objective.  They are so intent on spawn camping you for the win they forget the objective.  You plant the bomb and they are too far away to do anything about it.  Or using the misdirection technique.  Your whole team focus on one side of the map when you have the bomb.  The other team will think you are going that way.  You, with the bomb, go around the other side of the map and plant it.  They won't know what hit them.

I have two friends that play regularly, looking for 3 others to joins our squad that actually use comms and go for objectives. The quick match teams they put you in can be frustrating when people think they can play like its team death match. My GT is fignuts81 if anyone is interested.

The key to the game is not K/D, but team work.  If you kill someone it doesn't mean a point for your team.  For example, like I said, ther eis the coordination dial.  Not many people realize the significance of that and scoring/XP.  Use it, alot!

You hold the RB button to bring it up.  On the left will be the obective(s) and on the right will be your squad mates.  For example, if you are on sabatuer on the left will be pick up bomb, protect carrier, place bomb, or defend drop off.  When you select one of those you will get a blue line showing you where to go.  You don't need ot follow that, BUT if you accomplish what you set in the dial you will get a bunch of XP along with scoring for the team.

If someone hacks an opposing player and the hacker is on your team immediately after the hack hold RB, then press straight up, then press A.  This will do a coordination kill.  It iwll mark the hacked person as an objective.  When you kill that person you  and the hacker will get a ton of XP.  Most people don;t realize this.  The people I roll with we have figured out the XP system.  Taco likes to hack.  Last night, with double XP, he had 50k in XP.  That came from coordinated kills, people killing the lit up enemies, etc...  He would not have got that with a bunch of randoms that don't understand the scoring system.

So if your team is down but really close one of the best things to do is go engineer and start marking people with the UAV and sensor balls.  Get those intel assist.  A kill from an intel assist is 1 point for the team.

Unfortunately this scoring system does meant he engineers get the most XP because they do a lot of assisting.  Other classes can do this also though.  Scout classes have the OCR scanner and riflemen have the scatterback scope.  Those will mark up enemies.  The rifleman's lmgs will suppress an enemy.  If someone else can kill the enemy that's a score.

And with a little practice with the stun gun, some day you can be as good as me.

Honestly, half the time I'm the only reason our team wins so much. Note Poonga there at the bottom :p

Really looking for some friends to play this game. Am I beast with a gun? No. I do love the team, and objective, focus of this game though. Favorite class: Eng GT: PTR Mangfish Getting frustrated being put on random teams where people clearly can't distinguish GR from COD. Worst today was when one guy was just running around in circles in our own spawn. Really? I was just exiting from games when it was a lame team, but now I just continue to get in some practice shooting even though the loss is assured.
