I'm very interested in this as well, I've been looking into getting a PS3, but with the rumored next gen announcements happening at the Game Developers Conference, I really wanna hold off. Especially since they're saying Sony wants to release theirs before Microsoft can to gain an advantage. Although with all the amazing PS3 exclusives coming out, this would definately help push me towards my decision.
As far as a PS3 is concerned, the Uncharted series, God of War 3, Infamous 1, Demon's Souls, the recent HD remakes GoW/Ico/Sly/Ratchet all are quality games. Though the system price will continue to drop and I am not sure either system will be backwards compatible if rumors are true.
Played it and dug it... I have some reservations about how the combat will pan out over time. Having to manage a laundry list of monsters - a.la Pokemon - is not something that I'm really into.. The sidequest system seemed very intriguing, though..
My biggest concern is that I'll probably love the game at first, but not as much by the time the game is over. I also would have liked to see more about the customization system.
Hmm, I actually love Pokemon and monster collecting was the only appealing thing about FF13-2 so this sounds very interesting to me. I know it was just a demo, but did it appear that you could customize them? What about ability sharing, or fusion like in Persona 3 and 4? How about exploration?
The review I watched (Colin Moriarty, IGN) made it seem as if monster customization was pretty robust. I can't remember having any access to it in the Demo, but I did breeze through it fairly quickly.
As far as exploration goes, Ni No Kuni employs a concept similar to the Tales series games with the full-on world map. I really dug that!
