Update December 8th. - I am hoping we have a few more people show up for the 4vs4 next week. Fire mentioned he has a team so if any of you brave souls want to challenge his team for next weeks matchups, feel free to PM Fire or myself and we can get it set up. As for next week, same bat time ,same bat channel.

Update Dec,04th: Tonight is our first night of customs with 4vs4 team action. So far there are 2 teams (Fire's team and mine), rest are free agents so show up at 930, get into Dixon's room or my room. We will break the Free Agents into teams of 4, then the teams go out and play a best of 3. If they are up for a 2nd match, they can have a 2nd match against a different team for another round of 3.
Gametypes and Maps for Tonight:
Game 1: Team Slayer, Infinity Settings. Map - Solace
Game 2: Team Ball, Comp V.5 Settings. Map - Symplex
Game 3: Team KOTH, Default settings. Map - Haven

Best of 3 games then switch opponents and go again.

if you are bringing a team, be sure to have the updated MM maps. the ones on the disc are broken. if you have a good custom map, you should try to let others know ahead of time. that is if custom maps are even something we want to deal with now.
Yeah, we've got a few custom maps that we're rolling out for this, I'd say. They shouldn't be secret either, though. We'll be running custom rooms with them pretty regularly.
Custom maps will be used. There are a few we've started testing in customs loaded by respected people at HaloCouncil and MLG. We had a night of customs with mostly Forge maps ranging from remakes like Lockout and Pit to originals like Symplex and all played pretty well. I think having a good mix of standard and some custom maps will make it a bit more fun. I'm going to add all the maps I have on my File share today. I wish there one link to share with everyone but for now, we'll have to use GT's and the File share built into the game to make this happen.

Should be a bunch of folks milling about, looking for a team. Ideally, everyone, we'd like to form some teams, swap folks out if they don't fit, and get some scrimmages and things going in the near future, so this is just the first step in that direction.

Thanks for those that showed up and gamed last night. It was a bit of a clusterfuck getting the teams together but I got to play in a few games with some new peeps on site and I've sent a few FR out as well. We'll keep running these weekly as long as people show up and bring their teams. Any ideas to make it go smooher is always welcome.
Additionally, we're playing pretty consistently every night. start mingling, mixing, forming teams, and challenging folks as the need arises.
Is this thing really every night? Maybe the title could reflect that?
If it's a once a week thing then I would prefer to sticky it weekly instead of permanently.
If it's daily then perhaps forum activity will keep it at the top of the posts?
For now I know you guys are just getting off the ground but I'm looking down the road.

We've got folks playing pretty much every night, but nothing very organized. You're right in assessing that it is just starting, though.
i'd leave it for a week or two, then see what happens.
and yeah, the title should be updated once it's got a direction and regular day(s).

I'm a big fan of this and I enjoyed playing last Tuesday. I like how we just play a round with randoms, then move on with our groups to play matchmaking. Makes the night enjoyable when I'm playing with new members. Can't make it tomorrow but definitely looking forward to more games! Put me down as a FA :).

I would love to be more competitive even if its not "MLG" type stuff, but it seems like there isn't enough interest to get anything going. Are we aloud to post info on events going on from other sites?

you can NOT use any part of this forum to promote another site. you can NOT use this site to promote tournaments, ladders, or other events hosted by another site.
if you are trying to put together a team from here to participate in a battle hosted by another site, that is fine.
THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT! we need doodi to address this. i'm just going off of what i've seen discussed before.
we aren't here to help other sites. i would rather see you bring back info to see if we can organize somethig similar here.
i know this didn't take off well, but i think that there needs to be organization to get it going. if we leave it up to the general population to organize themselves, it's not going to happen.
i'm going to be running another 2old2play vs THE WORLD very soon. once that's done i would be willing to help run something of a competitive nature here.
