Upgrading PC, your input please.
Well this game has convinced me that it's time to upgrade my bucket of bolts I call a pc.
At the moment it's going to be CPU, mobo and RAM.
I'm thinking of an Core i5 3570k, an MSI Z77 MPower (SLi board) and 4x4GB Corsair vengance 1600MHz RAM. Thoughts?
I've got an GTX560Ti 1GB video card now, if I install a second (SLi) will that be enough to power a triplescreen or should I go for a GTX680? Is there a way to conect 3 HDMI monitors to this/these card(s)? Lastly is upgrading from Win XP to Win 7 beneficial?
My 2 cents.
I like the intel line but not the MSI brand. Who is the manufacturer of the GTX 560 you have. Matching board manufacturers can help keep your rig from being buggy.
Estimating the cost of your choices its about $600.00.
So this is what I would do. (Prices and Item numbers are from newegg.com
N82E16819116502: I7-3770 Ivy Bridge 3.4-3.8 1155 socket $289.00
N82E16813131830: ASUS Maximus V Gene 1155 Socket $199.99
N82E16820231312: G.Skill Ripjaws 4X4GB (timing 9-9-9-24) Asus tested compatible with above mentioned board. $99.99
For a grand total of $588.98
Or you can switch out the I7 for
N82E16819116504: I5-3570K Ivy Bridge and save $60.00
The I7 has 2 more MB of Cache over the I5 this makes more of a difference than you would think in system performance. The addition of windows 7 64bit is certainly the right choice absolutely no sense in getting more than 3 gigs of ram on a 32 bit system. I have the GTX680 2GB I do not believe I can attach 3 via HDMI. I do believe you can do 2 VIA DVI and 1 HDMI. Not sure of your budget but that's an $600.00 card. I personally am not a fan of SLI and do not like the decreased performance of multiple monitors on a gaming rig. Lean mean and clean makes the gaming rig go fast!
Note: You have stumbled on a group consisting of a lot of hardware geeks. Hopefully they will chime in as well.

The 680 will do a tripple screen no problem, i think ones has to be dvi though. Resloution might suffer, but then you might notice micro stutter with the dual 560's. I think the 680 might outperfrom the two 560's though.
I also agree to upgrading to win7 or even win8. The graphic drivers are defintely built for this and perfrom better on Win7. I also a fan of swtiching to an I7.
OK, go for broke and get a I7 and match mobo and GPU manufacturer. Current 560 is an asus in an MSI mobo. The ram Cyn mentioned is not available here, my choices are A-data, Corsair or Kingston. Witch would you choose?
As I understand it DVI and HDMI are fully interchangeable if you don't need the audio from the same cable. Correct?
Thanks Zeratul.
Edit: Current system is running win XP Pro 64 bit.
Here is a link to the support page for the board i mentioned above. If you click the first Global in the list it will give you a PDF of tested RAM. I would highly suggest getting ram from this list. On another note make sur you P/S can handle thw load and has the proper connectors. A good P/S is worth its weight in gold!! My fav's are the Antec. I run an 750 in one machine and an 1K in the other.

(CORSAIR CMD16GX3M4A1866C9(XMP)) looks good to me.

Corsair or Kingston, both have life time warranty. As for the 3 screens SLI and Crossfire disable the other 2 as it only works for one unless you run that nstream or wahtever it is that stretches it out. If your video card is 2 or more years old one high end card these days will smoke 3 of the old ones. Also go big on the ram I run 12 gigs and its well worth it.
This game itself isn't cpu intensive but it is GPU and ram, specially ram
One more question about the asus mobo, it's an micro ATX will it fit in a standard sized ATX case? If I place an order I'll have to wait for the mobo to arrive though, ETA unknown for any of the gamer oriented mobo's.
Most custom boxes will fit ATX and UATX, if you think that will be an issue try this board. A tad more expensive. But it kicks ass. I have built 4 rigs with it (including mine). Its super stable. However just a note 1 of the 4 came with a dead Sata 3 port. Not a real big deal in that specific situation only 1 HDD.

ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155
Hope I have been of some help.

I have an ASUS Sabretooth (the AMD version granted, but same difference) and it rocks. And you should most definitely be able to put a uATX board in a modern ATX case. I'd second Cynfire's reccomendation of going a little beyond what you need for the PSU; I went with the 1kW too. Heck, everything Cynfire said was good advice! The kid knows his computers.
Thanks guys, at the end of next week I should be an i7 3770, Sabertooth and 16 gigs of corsair vengence riicher! Almost 600 Euro poorer though.
My 750W PSU should do the trick I think.
Got your rig together yet?
