what to buy?

Hello,

I am thinking about buying the fanatec csr wheel, with clubsport pedals. Does anybody uses this wheel with a headset (earphone and mic)?

Hi Jdan I use this wheel with the elite pedals and the wireless Microsoft headset. Iv tried other wired headsets and they are all crap with this wheel Knight has the wired turtle beach x11s and says they work good but I can't get a pair at a good price :(. I'm still looking out for a good headset but as I will prob make the move to pc racing it will have to work on both Xbox and pc

There is a new version of the X-11s out now called the X-12s

The work on the PC and the 360 and are priced at £30.00RRP

Amazon have them for £30.00 brand new with free delivery:

Ebay? Amazon? I would bring up a search page for both for you guys, but, being in the USA will not bring up the searches you would need. So I just threw the ideas out there. But personally JDAN, I'd go with a set of TurtleBeaches. You said you wanted to keep quiet when your family is sleeping but be able to hear everyone, talk, and hear your car noises. I'd say turtle beach is the best way to go any way you look at it. Good luck on your search JDAN.

I used to use the MS head set with the CSR, but...to remove the buzz that you can both near and transmit your wheel needs to be connected to a PC (doesn't need tthe PC turned on) I think this is an earthing fault in the wheels sound board.

With the X11's the opposite is true, I have to disconnect the wheel from the PC.

They have the same anolog controls for volume and that seems to be key with the wired headsets and Fanatec wheels, so should be good to go.

Yes I have both Trittons and X11's...to be honest I would be hard pushed to tell you the Trittons are worth €200 more. The X11's will be fine for you, I use them on the Xbox and the Trittons on the PC. The Trttons have nice lights and a huge breakout box, the X11's don't...smiley

I did post another possible solution for you on the wrong thread. If you tell the Xbox to send chat to speakers, when you use your headphones it will come through them, then you can hang the MS set around your neck to use the mic....at least I am sure someone posted that solution at some point. Worth a try to save a couple of euro.

Don't forget the x11s are now discontinued as the x12s have replaced them

@Knight: What a simple and clever trick! That is what I will try: I will wear my earphones and hang the xbox-set around my neck. If I am at home on saturday I will try that, if it works . I will find someone, who is online. May be we are saying in some years: "It was a so easy solution, but it took months to find it."

I use Turtle Beach XL1s, I think (and am sure others will correct me if I am wrong) that they are virtually the same as the X12 just without the "bass boost amplifier" and a slightly smaller earphone bit. I have never had any issues with lack of volume on the XL1s so would definitely recommend considering them.

I am using Tritton Warheads and these work perfectly with the csr elite wheel these are truly wireless not one single wire involved for game sound or online chat.. Only 2 cables that connect to the back of the receiver . One optic cable from the back of the xbox to the receiver and the second is the  power supply plug that connects to receiver.from the wall outlet. The sound for both in game and online chat is amazing.I am an audiophile and I own a pretty high end home theater , so I am very picky when it comes to sound . These are awesome. It does come at a pretty steep price $300.00 U.S dollars.

I'm sure their great, but here we are looking for the cheapest solution for JDan so he can spend on his wheel...So far as long as what I sugested works, costing nothing, I think that's the winner smiley

Tritton cans are nice though, bit on the heavy side if I was to be critical but I love the way you can swivel the speaker housing so they sit flat when your not using them.

JDan, I've just ordered a set of Tritton Warheads... The point being, once they arrive I will have a spare set of Turtle Beach X31's that I've been using for the past year! The X31 is a fantastic headset but it's been causing my Fanatec GT2 to lock up so I've had to buy the Warheads to solve the issue.

I offered them to my wife but she is happy with the Turtle Beach X11's I gave her so PM me and I'll arrange to get them shipped out to you! wink

Hey JDan,

They're free, no payment required!! Just PM me the address and I'll get them sent across to you airmail next week!! My new headset arrived yesterday so they will only sit unused now, I'd much rather you had the use out of them!

All you will need is 2 AAA batteries for the headset smiley

Nice one Mapo, that's very generous of you. These good deeds don't go unnoticed, next time I think about a reckless dive up the inside of a corner to pass you I may just hold back. By the way if you have a spare Porsche or Ferrari can I have it, I would even go and collect it so you don't have to worry about delivery. wink

I've got a Porsche 911 GT2, brand new, in red with black and silver rims on it... you're welcome to it... it's never been out of it's Hot Wheels packaging!

Seriously though, I'm not loaded or anything... I just like to help out where I can, and these X31's would just sit in storage gathering dust so I'd much rather JDan got the use out of them and as Knight mentioned earlier, this will allow JDan to hopefully spend a little more on his wheel/pedals set up without worrying about the added cost of a new headset!

Mapo, next time I see Fitzy attempting a reckless drive up the inside of a corner to pass you, I volunteer to TAKE him OUT!

No thanks necessary, it's just how I roll.

Very nice thing you're doing.
