New Subforum Plz
In the Mech game forum, we would request the addition of a subforum for Mechwarrior: Online. The game brought a lot of people into the forum there and we are burying the other mech topics under mountains of Mechwarrior: Online topics.
Also we would request KuruptU4Fun1976 to be given mod status as well. He has really invested a lot of time and effort bringing new members to the site for the purpose of joining our Mechwarrior group and he would like to be able modify existing topics and help organize the forum to keep the Mechwarrior Info relevent and stimulating.
As always, Thanx for the your time and help.
I concur
I'd appreciate it.
I agree, it's a good idea.
Should definitely do this! It would be much appreciated!
Given the traffic in the mech forum, as Kurupt points out, it'd be a big help to folks who want to talk about something other than Mechwarrior Online :)
I agree, good idea!!
It would be well worth it as MWO is still in beta and has a large player base already!!
agreed, currently the Mech forum, is essentially a mech online forum anyway, i haven't seen any other mech game news in there for a while
Agreed
Agreed!
I 11th that motion!
Adding my voice to the request. For what its worth.
I am all for it!
Not to be a downer on this, but if there isn't any other action in the forum what's the point.
The forum is for all things mech. If MWO is the only one being played at the moment, then let it consume the forum for now.
If other topics are getting buried, sticky them or give them some love by posting in them.
I'm a fan of less is more in this scenario. I hate going to a bunch of different places to see things that are related.
I 14th that motion!
And thats the point. When people are posting frequently in topics dedicated to one game, other topics get buried. When those other topics are buried, people have to look harder to find them. Sticking all topics related to the other mech games makes a mess as it causes more clutter and less discussion. Thats why Halo and COD are not in the same forum. Thats why the Elder scrolls is a subforum of RPG. When I want to discuss elder scrolls I don't clutter up RPG and decrease the chances of a less popuar RPG being noticed and getting some attention.
Now I've stickied an index of notable topics on other mech games but again its just another place a person has to go looking in to maybe find something they want which is your argument..
Ultimately more discussion will be created on other mech games if people can see them and are not intimidated by countless posts on the game they aren't interested in.
point taken.
being a halo only guy, it's hard to relate.
I support this sub forum all the way
what he said ^
let to the insanity comense!
yes
again, playing devil's advocate.
i don't visit the mech forum very often.
there hasn't been a new thread or a thread with a New topic pushed off the first page since the last time i was there.
in the halo forum there are a few players still playing REACH, H3, and a few still active in ODST and Anniversary.
the threads on those topics get buried deep and quickly, but those guys continue to post to them fairly regularly.
one thing I've done to help me is bookmarking a thread that is of interest to me. then i can get to it without searching through pages of threads.
maybe that could help some of you?
I've seen a decent number of New members coming from another Mech forum. i wouldn't want to see them discouraged from participating.
is there anything else that would help?
My apologies if I missed something. Should just be a couple clicks for an admin. I did not think it would be that big of a deal to add a sub forum.

Its never a question of how hard it is to add the forum. We limit the amount of forums for a completely different reason. We don't split up forums on a granular level because they just create either very sparse main forums or sparse sub forums. Simply put, Less is More.
When V2 was still active we had WAY to many forums to the point that it took people forever to find a place to actually post. A more generalize forum actually brings in far more traffic as it doesn't limit people to one subject. For games like Halo (which is all halo games) this is a bit different because of popularity. That's why we move them into division at that point.
In fact it's more likely that we will lose more forums as time goes on. Since clans do a lot to reduce traffic in main forums we have to be very careful on what we add overall. This is the reason there was so much talk about opening up clan forums in the first place. If people don't see traffic in a forum then they assume no one is talking.
Was that a no?
Well we are trying to avoid the mechwarriors from moving to a clan...
Also not sure why the concern for activity in the mechforum as it is working on overtaking the third place spot for most forum topics and posts when compared to "Divisions" and "Game Forums".
I agree.
It would just move up to a division or open clan if that's the case. We're no longer doing closed clans.
Looks like square peg square hole or nothing. Guess we should be glad we have a mech forum at all.

After looking into this, MW:0 will get its own division forum. I'll also be cutting a lot of the fat in the general forums.
More then likely mech will be cut, Peripheral Games, survival horror, Guitar Hero / Rock Band, Racing Games, SWTOR, WoW, and a few others.
PoltegIce will become division leader and be able to post division news and events to the 2old2play homepage. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
On behalf of the mechwarriors; THANX!
Can't say I am a fan of dismantling the Mech Forum though...
I stand corrected.
