PS3 HDD Upgrade
120GB Toshiba SATA -> 750GB Seagate Momentus XT Hybrid ....
Process is so very simple...
Just wish the restore would hurry the heck up... I want to shoot up some veteran COD players, and laugh at them for getting killed by a noob.
88%
~1 Hour and 57 Minutes to go...
so, now that this process is completed.
So far I've noticed significant improvement in load times for a number of things.
GT5 tracks are loading very very quickly now. Far less lag between switching cars, and ordering by different attributes.
The Walking Dead "loading" screens are virtually non-existent now. Start up is blazing fast as well.
Start ups on other games seemingly faster as well, but I think that's just my eyes playin tricks on me.
Nice
I'm thinking of upgrading myself, any reco's in terms of process? I would prefer not to lose any of the data that's currently on the original HDD.
If you have a usb hd that will save your entire system. There a backup program located in the system tab somewhere. That is the same ps3 to the same ps3 . If going to another ps3 there are more steps involved.
Run backup program
Install new HD
Run restore program.
Profit
wow, that easy? cool!

Here's a sony doc.
ok I did some reading (me hurt brain) and I think what I gather is that EVENTUALLY there will be SOME BC titles released on the cloud which you will be able to download and play. Kind of like the PS2 titles that are released on PSN Store I believe.
I think that's what I got out of it.
Gaikai tech huh.
