To the new guys from a new guy!

First off, welcome to the site.

I've seen a number of threads from our newer members wanting to get into some races but have been a bit reluctant.  These are a great group of guys and are always willing to offer advise, tunes, cars, paints, anything.  We are all here to have fun and race.

As someone who just joined a couple weeks ago, all I can say is get your feet wet.  I too was intimidated by the skill these guys have on the track however I got involved in the events and have loved every minute of it.  The biggest hurdle I had was just knowing the tracks. It seemed like every race I was getting into was on a track I had either never ran or only a couple of times.  In those events, I would fall to the back right from the beginning and just get some track time.

All the regular events have a schedule posted so pick an upcoming event you want to race in and get some laps on it in the car you plan to run before the event.  That alone has helped me more than anything else so far.  Now I'm comfortable running in the pack with these guys.  Yes I still fall back and I still get passed, but now I can even pass some of the other guys.  The skill level is across the board so don't worry about it.

If any of you want some track time and you see me online, I'm usually getting some practice for an upcoming event.  Feel free to send me an invite and lets get some laps in.

Hope to see you guys on the track!

James

In my case, I usually can pass someone ahead of me just after the big crash. I'm kind of like a vulture at the moment. Skill level not quite there yet so, I have to quietly wait for anothers mistake. lol

Watch for a new series event post coming this weekend. PERFECT place for the new guys. I'll do ANYTHING I can to help you guys get faster. From tunes, to track session practice, track tuturing, I'm even considering tweaking the build for the guys that can't keep up, in an effort to help them out.

The Escort series will be for everyone, but I and hopefully others will go above and beyond for all of you new guys.

It's also a good idea to try the Wednesday track night as that is totally just for fun.

One race I even tested how long it would take to do the Alps. In reverse.

It's also a good time just to talk to new people as there is no pressure to win ect

Nice posts guys.
