I jumped in last minute Sunday with a Modern Deck that slings -1/-1 counters all over hell. Not EXACTLY an ability theme as the format was intended, but close enough for a chance to play against some clansfolk, and it WAS Modern. I won the thing so it is up to me to chose a format for this coming Sunday.
Unfortunately I will not be home this Sunday and unable to participate in the weekly tourney. I would choose Modern if i were here to play. If ParrotHead (he was 2nd) would like to override this choice for 03/09 with a differnt format I encourage it. Not just because I won't be here, but so many of you play with the Classic base it occured to me that Modern may force the need to purchase cards to comply with the format. I am not interested in causing expense to people just to play a format I like.
I wish you all luck Sunday in whichever format is used and I will hopefully return the week following and be able participate. My family and I bowl quite a bit and tournament finals are almost always held on Sunday after qualifying on Saturday.

Soooo whatever format we are going to play........be on time cuz you've got an hour less sleep this weekend.
In europe we reset our clocks in a few weeks.

I don't have a problem playing using the Modern format, although it doesn't really limit much other than curtailing some of the power decks from the modern meta game, which as a clan we don't usually play. I'm pretty sure most of us don't play decks with hundreds of dollars worth of cards in them typically. Well, except ol' moneybags Fort.
So for Sunday bring a Modern deck. My son is getting in town for Spring Break so if I'm not on that is why.
