BTW Alpha dog, Do you need a club invite in-game or are the old HLR guys still kicking around. I never get outside of our community here, so I'm sort of clueless when it comes to what other clubs are still going.
No, we are still going at it, just much more relaxed than previous years. Next month will be our 5 year anniversary. But thanks very much for the offer, i've recently cleared some space on my FL, so feel free to shoot me a FR if you would like guys.
Hello, my name is Bjorn - living in Drammen/Norway - aged 43 with two kids:-)
Working as an IT-consultant and system developer. I was very happy to find this site and forum the other night. Was on the hunt for someone to race with.
I have been playing F4 fore some time in career mode - up to Lvl 54 now and felt it was time for some online racing. I have joined some online lobbies , but quickly found I have a long way to go :-) Maybe I am to focused on clean racing....
I would really like to join your online club, if possible - and please feel free to add my as a friend online - my gamertag is balie :-)
Welcome Bjorn. because we are a rather large group, we have several regional club divisions in-game. ChurchPro is the guy in charge of our European Divison. Send him a message on Xbox Live & he can get you an invite sent out. don' be shy around here. If there's anything you need, speak up 7 we'll do our best to accomodate you.
Forgive the intrusion, this is a hard post. As many of you long timers know, I'm a FPS guy, always have been. Our genre is kinda stale right now and there is just too much BS going on in Blopsii and I was getting bored with it. Several of us in Shoot had talked about a change to make things fun for a while and a long time ago I cut my teeth on GT3 and enjoyed it very much, so a few of us decided to get down on some Forza 4. Picked it up Saturday along with a cheapo wheel(hori) and WOW, I'm impressed. First, it ain't no GT game which is how I treated it until I figured out its a full Sim. Cudo's to you and your niche! This mofo takes some skill!! Enjoyed playing for several hours Saturday.
Moving on, I woke up sunday ready to play, however, my back disagreed with that. Was using a drum throne and floating the pedals on the floor. FUCK THAT!!! So being a guy that likes to build and game comfortably and having freshly scrapped my son's wood bed frame and all the time in the world, I went full forza geek sunday and built this...
Anyway, I'm compfy in my recliner and it slides in and out, solid and fits like a glove. I know its redneckanese as hell, but it was only one afternoon off the the top of my head. I'll refine and up the quality later if I stick to it(so far no prob) Just thought you'd all enjoy the power of forza got a shooter geek like me......CONGRATS!!!
FTR, I'm not completely turned full time but will be playing the shit out of this between shooter matches!!
Welcome Gunny. Glad you've discovered the joy of Forza. I'm one of the resident racing instructors here. Click here to vosot the 2O4F Racing School thread. You'll find my # posted there. shoot me a text anytime you would like to have a session if you're interested. I'll get you a club invite sent out as well. then you will have access to the club garage in-game. There are some good cars there ready for use if you need them.
BTW Nice Axes there. I recognize the LP of course, but what is the super strat shaped guitar on the left?
Thanks Cotter, appreciate it very much. Will deff take ya'll up on a learnin' session soon. In game club?? Crap!! So much to learn!!!
Thanks on the axes. The strat shaped one is a 2002 Ibanez SA160 QM, the coustic is an Ibanez too but I think I'll be donating it to my daughter, its OK, but the body is too thin for me, the sound is just not rich enough for my taste. Wish I woulda known what I know now when I went to Guitar center.
Lmao! Classic man, Classic! btw nice job on the stand tho. sure the bungie cord is ghetto but wtf it works right? Thats what counts. Be prepared to let this game steal your soul, or not.
Thanks for the club invite, quick and smooth - really impressive work from all :-)
Just minutes after I joined the club I was in my first race with several other members, clean an nice race but I have a long way to go to keep up the speed :-)
Thanks for the club invite, quick and smooth - really impressive work from all :-)
You're welcome balie and welcome aboard, Parcells does his best work when he steps aside and lets the skilled members introduce the newbies so I'm pleased to have helped.
Hello all I am also a forza newb. Gunny and a few of my clannies from 2old2shoot convinced me to pick it up. My copy of the game and my wheel were just delivered today so I am as green as they come. Any ideas, pointers, help would be greatly appreciated. I have a funny feeling there is going to be a steep learning curve for me. Thanks again!
Don't get discouraged by the faster, more experienced drivers. We all started somewhere... Put my ass in a shooter and watch me get smoked all day long! lol
Check into the driving lessons thread here on 2O4F.
Get more seat time.
Ask questions in the lobbys, all the members here are happy to share useful info on whatever racing question you may have.
Start off using some assists like ABS (antilock brakes) and TCS (traction control), the racing line also helps beginners. Stay away from stability control, keep it off, all of the time, because it sucks...
Seat time.
Stay in the lower classes until you get comfortable with the circuits and such.
Just a few basic tips, I'm sure some of the others have great advice as well.
Welcome bro. We can't all fit in one club in-game, so we've got a few diferent "regional" club divisions. where are you located? Let me know & I'll make sure you get a club invite in game. Once you've joined the club, you will have access to out club garage. this will allow you to use cars that we've shared with the club. that should help you out a little. If you run across anything you really loke, simply message the person who shared the car & they wil be glad to send you an unlocked copy of the tune. That way when you find a car you like, oyu can look at how the builder put it together & set it up.
I also offer my services as a racing instructor. anytime you'd like to have a session, just shoot me a text at 615-969-7675. I'm available after 3 pm CST through the week, or anytime on weekends. I'll clear some space on my friends list & send you a FR when I get on again (probably tomorrow ince I'm jamming with friends tonight).
One big tip...
Be sure to go into your difficulty settings & turn steering assistance to normal. Also set your braking assistance to off (ABS is ok, just make sure there's no auto-braking turned on). Next, set your STM to off because it really ruins your feel for a car. As you learn how to drive, you can ween yourself off the other stuff gradually.
Thanks for all the info as I am sure it will come in handy no doubt! Jcotter I am from Long Island, NY and you know I just might take you up on your offer. If you ever get a text from a 631 area code you'll know who it's from. Again thanks and I appreciate all the help. Hopefully this will assist me when I hit the track!
ok bro. I'll have Gentleman Racer (2o2p name=Snappy Dee) send an east club invite unless you wanna be with all the cool people in the central division.
Sup? Thanks for admitting me to the group! I'm mostly a FPS player, but I've found that Forza is the title that I keep coming back to between FPS releases. I play more during the week than the weekends, so I hope to meet some of you guys at one of your weeknight races. Later!
hey guys read about ya on the forza forums. looking to get into some good racing and make some friends in the process. send me a friend or race invite GT : chiefin941
