So reinstalled the BTCC mod all went fine unless I try to join the sever with the Plato 2007 cupra, boots me as a possible cheat...all the others load okay...
sorry I had to bail guys - my bro stopped by (I knew he was coming by). I had a great hour of experience though and appreciate all the tips etc. can't wait to do some more. I'll use that server as my new home away from home :)
thanks for showing up....camt guarantee the server will always be up from sun-wed but ill do my best to have it running for weekends! i didnt catch your proper steam tag if u could post it ill add you to the club and you can use the friends list to add everyone else.
Never and i ran a few more laps, i personally really enjoyed the feel looks and sounds of the living simracing mod. Only bugs was everyone has to use the same yr btcc cars 2011 seemed the best and dont watch someone thats using a vw golf or it will crash....other than that it ran really well!
Well seems Kurupt has already decided not to do anything this week despite posts over at GBR suggesting otherwise..Mate I wish you would give the heads up when cancelling I plan stuff around these races like food, and I'm bleedin starving and it wont be ready for over an hour!
just finished 8 straight midnites while feeling like a can of smashed assholes for most of them got home this morning and crashed till now. When shit like this happens and guys wanna race it's not very hard to launch a server :) treat it just like your r07 folder when adding mods or just use the stuff u already own. If I can kick this migraine I might fire 1 up in a hr .....the wife will let u spend thousands on computer gimmicks but not let u eat in your cockpit? Thank god for microwaves :)
No mate, I often eat at my cockpit but the food need to be cooked and it was planned around the time I was supposed to be on. Okay I understand why but if you had that kind of schedual then you should just have canceled. I cant launch a sever not because I don't now how, but because I have a shitty internet connection, I wish to hell I could it would take the load off you. No worries I just speak my mind when sometimes I shouldn't, two hours sleep makes for a grumpy Knight LOL
I'll be on the GBR rF2 server later...Sorry to hear about the Migraine, I get them now and again, so I sympathize.
Heh yeah been waiting since wednesday, has hoping to get a few laps in with our new members. Like I said though no worries. Do really wish I could do it myself, rumers are we may be getting 4g at some point, that will really boost my bandwidth and hosting will be possibe. Not any time soon though maybe a couple of years, but I hold out the hope they may roll out a test service here.
Something crazy fast (e.g. F1, cart, open wheelers, etc.) or something a bit more sedate (e.g. Megane Trophy, Porsche GTs) - I'm already discounting ovals ;-)
Personally, I'd prefer something a bit slower as it usually promotes better and closer racing. I had a lot of fun driving the Meganes and Porsches a while back when I used to play (2007/8) but I'm not sure if they've been surpassed by better mods.
I like the idea of a single event only issue is some guys have a monthly data cap and don't wanna dl a lot of extra stuff to use once. That's why iam leaning towards a small series, I do agree with close racing and nothing to crazy....I have a few ideas from the past iam gonna revisit
I thought there was a plan to use the off week for testing next gen stuff?...and don't worry too much about Data caps, the odd mod or track is not an issue, full games were more of a problem :)
Also yes close racing or as close as we can make it anyway.
Here are a few mods we could try. They all have very good ratings on rfactorcentral.
Porsche 911 - http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=PCC%202007 - I remember racing this years back. It's a bit quicker than BTCC but I remember the handling being really interesting because of the 911's engine layout (i.e. tail happy!)
We race Porshe's, Enduracers, Touring Car Legends and the Sandrox Mod over at GBR...So all good choices but need something different as we have a few GBR folks here.
All very good mods! But like knight said there all ran in the gbr group.
the mods I've been looking at are
dtm 2012
wtcc 2011
1975 world touring championship BMW csl vs Porsche 911 on a couple retro 70's tracks
minis retro/modern not sure which yet
also seeking a retro Dtm but haven't located 1 yet :(
my plan is to start the btcc season than after the first or second race add the Dtm on the off weeks. Once the btcc is over follow up with a 6 race wtcc season and cycle in another mod . I figure this format will allow for 2 btcc seasons a yr :)
Is there a link for the MOD?
This one Church or a different one? This is the last one that Kurupt mentioned. http://living-simracing.blogspot.ca/2012/09/btcc-2007-2011-mod-full-release-v3-by.html
So reinstalled the BTCC mod all went fine unless I try to join the sever with the Plato 2007 cupra, boots me as a possible cheat...all the others load okay...
Race is about an hour Church, any of the touring cars will do from STCC1/2, BTCC tghier all on the server.

No chance tonight lads!
SIL came over. Blah Blah Blah
No worries Church, we just played around with different mods to see what was what.
So...server going up any time soon?
I am out of town this weekend.

And you don't want to keep an Irishman waiting for his food.
Sorry guy real life before virtual !

With the btcc starting soon and running bi weekly what do u guys wanna do with the off week?
have it as a practice session for the upcoming btcc rrace or run another series?
I'd definetly be up for another series.
Edit: How about some special events?
i.e. Le Mans, Nordschelife, Spa 24, Rolex 24, Bathurst, ROC etc. (All in a more compact format of course lol)
If I ever get my wheel working, I'd be up for some other fun races.
I'd second Tartan's idea of a series of special events.
Should have tons of options now that we are running rfactor.
Guess it depends what people are after.

Renault Megane - http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Megane%20Trophy - might be a bit too similar to BTCC?
Karts - http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Rotax%20Max%20Challenge - something completely different!
Historic Touring Cars - http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Touring%20Car%20Legends - why not go back in time to a simpler Touring age?
Got another few good uns.

All fantastic looking mods and great fun to drive.
I feel like a kid and his Pokemon cards, Gotta Race em All!!!

Still have the DTM mod installed so one vote for that, it is different enough to be interesting to run.
