Sunday Tourney April 28
We have been talking about a Peasant Kscope league, so let's try a tourney and see what we think..a sneak preview of sorts.
Kscope..all commons, but 5 uncommons are allowed.
Must be two color, and every non land card must contain both colors.
60 card minimum
Good experiment. I was just checking kscope cards to see if this league would be feasible, changing colors every round. I'm not so sure it is, not with the card pool limited to commons and 5 uncommons. I just checked G&W, for example. There are 15 commons and 10 uncommons in the entire collection. That is with the card pool selection being kaleidoscope in the entire collection (those I own and don't own). Just food for thought......
If you played Green\White as your two colors, I count 39 commons that are legal in Kaleidoscope. I didn't bother to go through the uncommons.
You'd literally be able to play 60 card singleton, (with 21 lands), and not even have any uncommons.
I'm not married to this league idea, when the thread "Next League ?" sat around for two weeks, I just came up with something because nobody else did.
At any rate it's something different for Sunday. Good idea Parrot.
ok, I can't count. So what else is new? I know it's the only idea anyone has come up with, and it's not so bad. I actually like kscope a lot. So, go for it.
I got confused for a moment thinking the league suggestion was for singleton!
I made four decks fairly quickly using cards in my collection. I would probably look for others to swap out if we do the league, mainly because I like finding new cards. I found several new cards while building the 100 cd singleton deck for last week's tourny.
pH
It's not possible to build a singleton deck for most colors for what i've seen.
It looks like there are only 17 or 18 commons for most combinations.(i agree GW has 35 or so)
I started to build 5 decks at the same time and so far it doesn't look like we are going to see big surprises.
Yes it is pretty limited but on the other hand it levels the field.
Anyway I'll come up with something playable this sunday.
laterrrrrrrrrrr
First of all, I wasn't really suggesting that we play K-scope_Pauper_Singleton. I only brought up the singleton part to say that it was technically possible, at least with G/W.
2nd, the number of G/W commons is not 15 and it is not "35 or so"....It's 39... I'm thinking the posts I make can't be seen because people are using different browsers than I am or they have graphics turned off or don't have Flash installed or....something. When Penni said there were only 15 commons legal in K-scope I thought to myself, "well that can't be right", She must have some filters on. So I went & counted them up, then I posted the links to the pics in the thread above, which should show the card pics directly, without you having to do anything. There should be 39 pretty pictures in my above thread. I don't mean to sound mad or anything, honest!. But I spent some time & effort making that post and if it can't be seen by people then I guess I won't waste my time again.
3rd, In the other thread I counted 38 G/R commons. However G/W & G/R are complimentary colors so there are prolly more of them. Opposing colors like G/B or U/R might be much less...
(I checked blue/red real quick, I counted only 19 diff commons.)
Heh yeah you are right nite,i missed 4 cards because they include an extra color.
I allways use magiccards.info when i look for cards that i can use, and its filter can only in/exclude colors so i will see 35 cards or way over 200.
in this case i missed bant sureblade, naya hushblade, crystallization and trace of abundance.
Using this filter i came up with these numbers....>colors.......number of commons....>
WU 35
WB 16
WR 16
WG 35
UB 35
UR 17
UG 17
BR 34
BG 18
RG 35
These are the cards using only those 2 colors so you can add a few for some combinations.(i know there are five 3-color blade critters)
Is there a program available using a filter this specific or did you do this manually ?
Btw.............you do post pretty pictures
I just use the MTGO client & open up my collection. From there under "All Cards" I switch it to "Kaleidoscope"..then under "rarity" I switch it to "Common"....Under "Owned" I switch it to ">="...Then I just choose the two colors I'm wondering about. I might also change "All Versions" to "Regular" so I don't have to see 2 of each card.
But from there yeah, I just manually count the ones that would be legal and ignore repeat versions of the same card. Your way sounds easier.
Since you said that, here's one of your favorites....
It seems as if I started something......again! Yes, my friend, we see your nice posts of cards and such, and, yes, we know it takes a lot of time and effort. And, I appreciate it, very much!
Every time I see a post with a lot of card art I just assume that someone got bored and was out of beer.
pH
hehe, that's exactly right.
Wasn't bored last night though, for the first time in a long time, Friday night was going strong. Played Jello about 20 games and then Fort showed up & even Kevin showed up. So we got some 2hg in.
heh , yeah but i've got more hobby's
O and i think its pretty difficult to create a filter for all those weird formats that are invented here
