Tuning tips for the ring?
I ran a couple of laps on the ring in an A class lobby the other day. I'd like to try tuning a car for this track, and learn some new stuff in the process. Part of this process will be choosing the right car for an A class build. Anybody willing to share some insight?
Even though I kinda suck at it, I enjoy tuning, discovering the effects of different settings, etc. Thanks in advance for your advice!
Porsche 911 GT3RS. Not much room to add parts, just add aero, supension, brakes, roll cage, sport trans, diff, & tune away. I can always send mine of you'd like to look at how it's put together.
The 911SC is also an excellent platform to build on. It has a little less motor to start with, so you can be a little more creative with it. It doesn't have as much downforce as the RS though. Either one can be pretty equal on the ring though.
I would do better to know that track and race in a dogshit car vs a finely tuned leaderboard car at my current level of track understanding.
Appreciate the tips! Most of the tuning I've done has been heavy on the grip side of things. Can you guys speak to specific attributes that are helpful on this track?
cotter, I've got a great livery for that car. Sounds like a plan!
Couple important ones for this track:
More negative camber than you'd have on a general tune. The corners are very fast, and you'll really lean on the car a lot more than normal.
More decel on the diff. Again due to fast corners. With the fast corners you want stability under braking rather than snappy rotation off throttle.
I was gonna say softer bump for the curbs?
perfect. Just what I was looking for.
Thanks guys!

What Shake said.
Cotter,
thanks for the tune, man! I'll look at it to learn from, but for that car I won't change a thing. Drives great on the ring!
