BMW Tuners and Builders Series. Thursday Nights Following the Escort RS Series. (FINISHED)
BMW Tuners and Builders Series. Thursday Nights Following the Escort RS Series. (FINISHED)
Following the Escort RS series I'm going to be hosting a BMW Tuner/Builder series. (9PM THURSDAY NIGHTS) The idea is to have 1 or 2 specific cars available, and then only the PI is restricted. So for example race 1, you would have the choice of a BMW 2002, or 3.0 CSL, and a B500 PI index.
We will run races with handicaps up to 15%. Two races per night, Handicaps will be assigned for top 4 finishers per race. You must finish in the last 3 spots to lose a handicap. We are going to run on FULL tracks. Full tracks mean more oppurtunities to pass. And even most of the B class BMW's are NOT slow.
So given the "restrictions" there isn't much else to say. It would be cool to see some BMW race paint replicas but that obviously isn't a requirement. I will try to get a couple replica's or paints up on the storefront for each car and of course will gift those over to anyone who wants them.
So..........
5/23 Nurburgring GP full B500, BMW 2002, OR 3.0CSL
5/30 Hockenheimring A600 BMW E36 M3.
6/6 Silverstone International A600 BMW 11' 1M
6/14 Road Atlanta B500 BMW E30 M3
6/21 Silverstone full. A600 BMW E46M3
6/28 Mugello Full A600 BMW Z3 or Z4 Coupe YOUR CHOICE
Reserving this spot
If someone wants to volunteer to post tunes speak up. I don't think I'm going to do all of that this series. A few of my Escort tunes got a bunch of downloads and others only got 1 or 2. It's not worth my time for a couple downloads. And it may sound flaky but there are a few BMW tunes I'd rather not share with anyone.
If people Send me the car I will have a look.
Other than that I always forget to do tunes ect.
But do people want to drive my tunes? Who knows. Also if you do you must have a CPR Sticker on your car
I hope the stickers REALLY durable...
LOL. After race 1 last Thursday you would think that HAS to be a requirement.
Just dont put the sticker ont he roof and it will be fine
Sign me up! Sounds like fun
On the Roof!!
Awesome idea :)
is that 9pm gmt time or est?
most likely GMT...ack! NOT!
I forgot which thread I was in...
EST.
I can stick some tunes on my SF. I will let you know when they are on there.
This sounds like fun, love the BMW's, so count me in
I'm in as well. Let's do this.
Count me in, the escort series is a blast, and i expect this one to be as well!
depends for me if its Eastern or GMT time. Sound very cool though.
I think its EST but Im not sure either.
Yes 9pm EST.
If I thought there was enough interest I could run this on a Saturday in the morning. Something like 10 or 11 AM EST.
It's early but it's before much is going on around the house, and would be more available to the Euro guys. Even the west coast guys could get in they would just have to be up early.
and if the sat morning slot works for people that would open up Thursday night for something else.
I would seriously like it to be Sat morning. That's way better for me. Either way, but preferably Sat, count me in for the series.
Thinking of adding an R3 race, R750 (not R800). Has to be a BMW. Has to be a racecar. Otherwise whatever you want. That may only include 3 cars though. I would have to double check that.
Im not sure which ones these are. Can you specify the years for these three races in the OP?
Thanks
E36 M3 = 1997
E30 M3 = 1991
E46 M3 = 2005
Not sure.
I think the e36 is a 97 but anything 95-99 is what you are looking for.
The e46 is 02-05
E30 88-92
I'll have to log on to get exact years. I should unfriend you for not knowing these by model designation though.
LOL J/K
I feel I have to make note here, not all of us speak BMWese, and this can make locating the proper car a tad more difficult sometimes...
You horrible, horrible example of "car guys".
E30 BMW
E36 M3
E46M3
Z3 M COUPE
Z4 M COUPE
2002
3.0 CSL
Where I come from, the sissies (yuppies/lawyers/etc...) drove BMW's, we drove stuff more like this...

Those are nice cars but did they have power anything( Brakes, steering.etc...? I use to drive a 1969 Chevrolet C-10 Pickup. long bed. Drum brakes, 350 c.i. motor, leaf spring and three on the tree. It came with power nothing. Now that is how you learn how to drive, half ton pickup with drum brakes, you get to learn what the old racer use to drive in that.
67-72 C-10's ran an odd swingarm/trailingarm rear suspension and coil springs... I drove a 72 longbed (307 C.I.) to highschool sometimes when I had my Nova tore down.
