2old2play Halo 4 night with GeezerGamers Spartanhawks?
Howdy 2old2players, Callsign Mike here from the GG halo-centric group Spartanhawks. We're a casual (ephasis on casual) group of old farts that play Halo, often badly, but always for fun. We've been thinking it would be great to have some games with or against some like-minded groups (i.e., NOT squeeky voiced timmies). We've recently had a few games with a few 2old folks and even had the matchmaking gods set us up against a few for a big team game on shatter (we lost, btw....). I think several of our group have friends in your ranks already.
Anyway, what say you?
We've got a regular game night on Monday, but we could try to coordinate another night if we know we can get numbers on both sides. We could mix and match folks for a casual approach or try to set up a "clan battle". Depending on numbers, we can set up a few rooms, different game types, etc.

Tues. nights we have a group age 50 - 70. I'm fairly sure we could arrange a fun match. Thur. night is our Site Wide Halo night age 25-60ish. What is your definition of old farts? :)

Excellent! Generally, we're 35+, but we do have one outlier that is 27. I think our oldest member is in their late 50s or early 60s. Most of us are 40-50. Our skills would best be described as mediocre. We've got a few pretty sharp players, but none that would strike fear into any opposition. We've also got a few that consider it a victory to not end up in negative double digits for deaths.
I'm not sure we've got our ducks in a row to try and pull something off for tonight. I was thinking it might work best if we tried to coordinate things a bit with some lead time involved--maybe later this week or next week? I need to let our folks know so we can muster. Some folks can play anytime, some of us can only manage specific nights or specific times.
Anyway, looks like something could come together for a Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday. Any preferences? What are your numbers like on Tues. and Thurs.?
Ok. Let me bring the 'hawks up to speed tonight when we get together. I'll see about this or next Thursday. Any chance you guys could make a Monday work? I know a few of ours have regular conflicts on Tues and Thurs. We can get a core together I expect, as long as folks can plan....get a kitchen pass, make sure the kids don't have an even, or deal with work schedules.
I'm sure there's enough people here that could make Monday work given enough time.
We could dig a few more out if we had some interesting challenge.

Hey yeah! I could Monday nights. I wouldn't be able to be on until 8:30 CST or so, but I could definitely fill a slot on either side.
I forget who I have on my fl for Halo here, but Sucktacular1 would accept a game invite.
I will be rolling around in BTB I could join as well. Mondays are my BTB night for the past few weeks now. i distincly remember the game on Shatter, it was a 2 or 3 kill decision, too close.
I'm able to join but only on days that end in the letter Y.

We talked about it last night at weekly gathering. Everyone was down with setting up a mixer of some sort, so all we need to do is narrow dates and time.

10 E is only a good time if you want East coasters to leave half an hour to an hour in. At least in our clan, on week nights people drop in groups around 10:30.
I'm leaving it up to GG though. Whatever they pick, we'll probably be able to field some people. :)
Is 9 EST too early for left coasters? We normally get rolling then on Monday. We can always pick up people as we go. (Disclaimer--I'm on the right coast, so this is self serving, though I'll stay on 'till much later than I should)
Lol I know it's a pain...9 E is too early for west coasters, 10 E is too late for east coasters! I guess let the GG dudes pick a time and people can decide if its too early or late for them?
