Halo 4 online glitch...
343i denies any server interference on Tuesdays, M$ seems to keep telling me that the issues are my network. Ports are open, router reset quite a few times...still having the issue on Tuesday night clan nights.
The game randomly decides to switch my profile to "My Xbox" and says that I have no connection to XBL, and will not allow me to use the menu to change the network. It still shows I am online, BUT sometimes it still won't fix it with a quick dashboard and requires rebooting.
I'm 100% unsatisfied with their responses. PS4 is looking good except the POS thumbstick locations...
It's obviously not you! It happens to many people on Tuesdays, even if you're not there lol. It's not always the same people...so they can't say "it's them too." Tuesday nights Halo connection is shit, MM and Customs.
Maybe my sucky connection jumped from me to you. Woe is you, if it did.
I'm not sure what this has to do with the One, but ok. Keep in mind PSN was down for an entire month at one point.
It has to do with them testing SOMETHING on tuesdays and denying, and trying to blame my network and connection on it. My connection is fiber, and all my ports are open.
Microsoft support sent me to a network troubleshooting source, though I told them that Halo 4 is the only game I have issues with, as well as many others on Tuesdays.
Is your MTU set to 1364?
It could be 343 doing something on the servers those days, possibly testing a new game's system. Might have nothing to do with anything Microsoft is testing for Xbox One.
Is your MTU set to 1364?
As far as I know, it's only H4, it's only Tuesdays, it's LOTS of people.
I never had the issue until about a month ago. It's more than Tuesdays, it is becoming more frequent. Happens to me at least a couple nights a week. It is only Halo I have an issue with...lose connection to live while in game...have to go to dashboard to sign back in...go back into Halo to get booted again. Reset router...get booted...rinse and repeat. COD multiplayer, Borderlands multiplayer, Bioshock, Amazon movies...no issues at all. Halo 4 is broken.
MTU is set at 1500 and is not the issue.
Ranking System issues? That was a month ago, and it sends all the data post game to MS for processing, could be a glitch since it isn't in game and is handled by a remote server. Maybe when it's updating everyone's post game new rank players can get disconnected.
How's that for a harebrained theory?
Matchmaking is typically ok, the issues are most rampant in custom games.
Obviously Halo 4 is still in beta mode.
I have had a few problems in MM, but more of the standard lag stuff -- rubber banding and such, not too much in customs, but definitely seeing others having problems.
My internet connection does not require a modem. I have fiber to my house, and there is a module outside that acts as a modem. My internet comes into my house via an ethernet cable.
My router is setup properly, and functions 100% in other games.
Including my experience, many people today report initial start up problems with Halo 4. It really chugs as soon as you press start to begin the downloadable content check. I am not suggesting the problem is Halo 4 but rather it's likely the MS servers.
I thought that the free map corrupted the DLC, if this IS the case, it would certainly make sense.
Played 3 hours tonight without one hiccough. It's ONLY on Tuesdays that this happens to me. There's no way in hell they can deny testing something on Tuesdays on the 343i servers because it only disconnects the person from the halo server, and NOT xbox live.
Lol@ last night! We had a party of I think 14? Suddenly it says "you are not connected to xbl" on all of our screens. Yet we were in a lobby and talking to each other! Then we were all kicked to our own parties and "kinda" kicked off xbl...only offline in halo. It was pretty funny.
Its probably getting the matches confused with the Halo Spartan Assault matches and throws an Error 343 when it discovers you're using a controller and not a tablet.
