Yeah, I'll definitely post if there are any issues. I will be getting it day one. I'm not happy with some of the nonsense MS is up to either but I guess I'm a little less pessimistic about it.

I'm thinking that the publishers were right there with both companies in asking for a way to get money off of traded games. MS says that it is up to the publishers to decide whether they want to charge a fee for used games and that MS doesn't see any money from it. The publishers have been very quiet about whether they will charge or not. Surprise, surprise. I can definitely see EA charging a fee.

Kinect having to be connected all the time...? Definitely creepy but in my situation the stupid thing won't be looking at much since I am in the fortunate situation of having a room set aside just for racing/gaming (just Forza, really). But I empathize e with the many concerns expressed in this thread and several others that I have been following.

MS checking in on users every 24 hours is just stupid. How long can they keep that up for? Won't that bog down the system? Makes no sense.

If not for Forza 5 being a release title for the Xbone I probably wouldn't get the new machine right away. It's really the only game I play. Call me crazy but ill be more than happy to post my impressions and the annoyances that will come with the next generation of gaming.

I just want to add that I have no animosity towards members here for their opinions on the XboxOne or the PS4. I'm constantly looking for info to post up so that people can have as much data as possible. Whether they've already decided to get one or not.

i understand always being online i am usually as well, but if it does not get connect every 24 hours you can only watch tv and blueray dvds no gaming at all. from a gaming console ?

im a bit pissed off with that, albeit i bet it gets hacked quicker than the 360 was.

from microsoft

"With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection, but you can still watch live TV and enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies"

Well Gentlemen, it looks like in the next day or two we will know a lot more about FM5. We will hopefully learn all about new content and gameplay enhancements. And I really hope they are enhancements as opposed to a change towards an arcade style of racer. I, personally, don't see that happening. So, while we may have agreed or disagreed here's hoping that FM5 has most of what we hoped for. For those on the fence or dead set against the XboxOne, I hope that those who do pick it up (whenever it comes out) pass on their experiences, both good and bad, here on these forums.

so, to narrow it down for me, I'd like:

More tracks ( a must )

Completed sets of different race car series (WTCC, DTM, V8 Supercars, NASCAR...whatever T10 can manage) and relevant street cars

Lighting: day/night transition, working controllable headlights (and side marker lights on the race cars), fog effects.

Just watched the E3 FM5 intro. No time to tell you anything about the game features EXCEPT the one feature Parcells was very immpressed with. The cloud will be used to generate your personal drivatar so others can race against drivatars vs. stupid AI. If done well this would be totally awesome...i.e race against the typical 2O4F people that I have great battles with when they're not on-line that would be sweet!

Lets hope they get it right.

Are we talking an interactive drivatar or one that just runs a path someone else did the other night?

IE, are you still gonna get plowed even if you have the line entering the corner?

Church, put your clothes back on, it's embarassing...

The original drivatar was dynamic so I would assume this one is too which means YES [insert name here] will dive bomb you just like he does in a real race.

I am curious to see what they come up with but doubt ill return to consoles especially after beta testing 3 upcoming sims for pc....one which will have a numbed version that will be released on consoles and will have everything you guys hope for in fm5.....minus hotrods and a single console that will support triples which i highly doubt will happen cause it will have to have a top of the line graffics card which alone will cost u $500 plus min which in hand would make the xbox one pretty pricey.

Anyways all i hope for is......

More real race cars within actual race classes and ditch the 300 useless production cars

Multiple tire carcasses soft, med hard and rain

Real life tracks, lots and lots of beautiful  tracks :)

Improve the ffb and physics...tire wear and a better simulation mode

Realistic  tuning......fm4 was a joke you could do anything to a car and make it driveable

last but not least Figure out how to get the servers to run smoothly with 5 people before telling me there increasing to 20

simple basic stuff that will make the game much more enjoyable for everyone, if your still seeking indepth simulator style racing your only gonna find it on a pc cause it simply wont sell on a console youd have  a million timmies complaining the game is too hard and complicated and would die quickly like RacePro by simbin.........T10 has proven with the last 3 releases they only care about sales and making a flashy game that the masses will enjoy

sorry, typo, accidentally added a zero. meant 43 lbs, XOne built with lead to protect it from radiation...that the Kinect unit releases.

on the whole i thought the games looked impressive, i love the idea of it putting me as driver out there wreaking havoc for my club mates in their single player game.

but still nothing about the wheels, which is the deal breaker for me i cant justify £430 plus games for something that my £500 fanatec investment is fucked.

so if the wheel works im with church, take my money NOW

My guess is Fanatec no longer wants to sell the Elite so you buy the clubsport.

Anyway, just watched a post interview with Dan and the guy specifically asked him about wheels for FM5 and Dan said Thrustmaster is coming out with a new wheel and said exactly nothing about any existing wheels.

Parcells still beleives they will make the Fanatec's work...they better.

The CSR is also off all of a sudden, both Forza branded wheels no longer avaliable? Yeah right it's all about the CSW. While I agree to a point and that point is the CSW is replacing the Elite because Fanatec have not even paid their licencing fee to Microsoft.

For those buying into the new Box and Forza 5 and have a Fanatec wheel I hope I'm wrong.

They also talked about the drivetar some more and what Dan did not say was that you could set up a race against the drivetars of your choosing. If you cannot pick (amongst your on-line friends) exactly who you want to race against then the drivetar is a complete waste of time, probably worse than AI.

They better not fuck this up!

[edit] he didn't say you could set it up just like he also didn't say that you could not set it up, simply lack of specifics beyond you'll race against drivetars vs. AI.
