Well I think they just got me back on board.  I really had hoped they would wake up, I think I might be placing some money soon.

Personally I wanted it as it was. Although the pre orders went through the roof after the announcement so seems I'm a minority on preferring the drm lol

Microsoft did this because they care so much about their customers, it had nothing to do with the low pre-order numbers. Oh look my nose just got bigger.

I, for one, agree with the reversal. The fact I had to connect all the time is no huge deal. I rarely lose internet, I just don't get on Xbox for days at a time in the summer due to the huge work load. The whole licence thing where you had to get it released, while a good idea, just would not work with me since I will more than likely have 2 Xboxs or more in the same household. I like the ability to take a game my wife is playing, pop it in my drive and try it myself without having to worry about releasing a licence and deleting her game (possibly?). My boy is coming of age to be able to have his own Xbox soon and I just didn't want to deal with the hassle. I'm still going to wait for at least 6 months to a year to get the new box. Why? Because I have to buy at least 2 xboxs + Forza + whatever game she might want too. So my little over a year Xbox slim will have to do me good for now. I have alot of unfinished games anyways.

Under the old plans both you and your wife could have played the same game at the same time from one disk. Also you would have only needed one xbl gold purchase :(

The only real hold up on the original format for me was the 24hr checkin or your games are useless.  Check it when I first install the game then leave me the hell alone, thats what Steam does.  If they had gone that approach I think they would have had a better welcoming.  Instead they kind of sent the message that if they couldn't keep a constant monitoring of  your system then they would just shut off your games.

I would prefer to be able to install the game and not have to keep track of the disc but not at the cost of if for some reason (my router or modem takes a dump, or their servers go down) my Xbox can't check in for 24hrs then it becomes a brick that I can watch tv on, which I already have the capability with my cable box, or apple tv, or my tv itself, or my pc, my ipad, iphone.

Also some people are blasting them that they saw how bad their sales were going to be and changed.  Fine I care less, the fact is they saw it wasn't going to work and adjusted.

Yeah, bought one disc and two of you on separate machines could have played it head to head if you like.

Now you can buy multiple discs instead...what a deal!

A guy over at Forzacentral referenced this and, If this is true, it wouldn't have been as awesome as folks have been assuming:

http://pastebin.com/TE1MWES2

"When your family member accesses any of your games, they're placed into a special demo mode. This demo mode in most cases would be the full game with a 15-45 minute timer and in some cases an hour. This allowed the person to play the game, get familiar with it then make a purchase if they wanted to. When the time limit was up they would automatically be prompted to the Marketplace so that they may order it if liked the game."

Optimistic speculation as to M$'s intentions is still speculation...

Possibly Church but no one really knows.

No one can argue the M$ has been unambiguous about the new, supposedly awesome, features and why they haven't been should be a concern.

I've done my best to sift through all the pertininent info regarding the XOne rather than rant across multiple forums with my 2¢ of speculation.

I am not at all interested in Kinect and all the other stuff that is being pacakaged as value and know that the best I can hope for is a Kinect-less option being made available at some point.

I don't atually like the reversal or, that it now appears, the distinctions between PS4 and XBOX One are all but insignificant.  But, M$ should've quit the PR BS and given folks the straight scoop and killed much of the speculation from the get go...

Basically what I see people posting was the family share was going to be the full game that could be shared with 9 other users, the full game.  What reference did you all use to have this information because I hadn't seen anything that detailed what the family share was.   Nothing I had read stated that you would be able to play at the same time with someone who has it installed under the share program.  We know that MS and the developers want their money so why allow 9 free copies of your game for the price of one, it doesn't make any sense.

The official I saw on share was one owner, 10 friends in a circle, and the owner and one friend could acdess simultaneously. The other nine had to wait their turn. At no time could two friends access simultaneously. And yes, the owner/friend could do MP off the same copy head to head if they wanted.

The last explanation posted about time share etc was widely panned as likely bogus info.

Okay so just you and one person you share with could use the game at the same time.  With the way some people are posting in other areas of this forum and on other forums they act like you could buy one copy and 10 people could all install and play at the same time together.  The only official information I had seen didn't really give any indication as to what exactly you could do with it so I was wondering where people were getting this impression.

I'm now trying to decide on what I want to do, I put some money down on a PS4 but now with this change I am really looking back at the Xbox.  I just really like Forza and would love to get back to racing with everyone.

Don't worry about FM5.

I don't think a lot of people are able to just drop the money needed right away to get it so i'm sure Forza 4 will be our main game for a while yet.

Even if I get a X1 with FM5 I will 100% switching between the two so I can play online with everyone who can.

Thats the thing oldschool. My wife and I are on 2 different boxes with 2 different GTs. So the share thing might not have worked. I have to buy 2 discs for every game we play together anyways. Unless it's Lego somethingorother that we play on her box exclusively. And Shaggy, thats fucken awesome. I wouldn't have minded the check in thing. Just turn on my xbox at night and turn it back off after check in. gotFOURSQUARE?

you might have had to buy two Live accounts, but one game would have worked for both...oh well.

Glad you like it.  I came across it in the comment section of a Kotaku.com article.  Had to share.  Really liked the article Church posted as well.

I just got a little time to read all of Church's posted article. 134 Now that my eyes have been opened, I'll stop bitching about what we had, and won't have now. Seeing as my work schedule has gotten so busy, I hadn't had time to read all the articles, so I just went off of what every other Franky Fuckhead said they didn't like about the new Xbox while searching Bing. That article was very well written, and to tell you the truth made me a bit pissed off and all the people bitching on the internet. Maybe I should personally email MS about this, maybe the opting in/out option would be best. My 8-9 year XBL Tenure better be good for something. 5
